No Sanchez at all.  We need some information from the athletic department at this point.

I posted a tweet earlier they had him on the big screen wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and that they had no update.

Really starting to get concerned with the lack of Xs and Os.  Very worrisome.  Looks like Lavin isn't a good in game coach at all, no adjustments, his team got run out of the gym by UNC-Ashville.  Who cares if he's getting great recruiting classes when the talent is wasted by bad in-game coaching.   You see what Dunlap is doing in Charlotte and you notice how missed he is.  Lavin needs a real Xs and Os guy to mask his deficiencies again.

Too many athletes, not enough basketball players.

Half court offense was a mess down the stretch.

Can't have 3 guys trying to block every shot.

I just saw it on the other thread after I posted here.  Sad what he is being put through.

Branch would have masked his x's and o's deficiencies , but this game wasn't even that bad x and o wise, nothing outside the usual ring around the Rosie stagnant offense, I saw more of a rotation issue, aside from phil Greene I think Amir over Dom to finish the game would have helped as well. He's more offensively inclined and plays just about as good defensively.

You hit the nail on the head with that one. " too many athletes not enough basketball players" it's a real disadvantage when your main wing guys ( Amir, pointer) can't really put the ball on the deck or knock down the three consistently. Especially when your playing in an upper echelon league. They play like undersized forwards instead of big guards.

When coach Lavin hired Darrick Martin, many questioned this.  Funny but many posters stated that when Lavin was hired he knew his limitations and that's why he brought in Dunlap.  Has he forgotten what worked for him in year one?  Tonites performance by this team was just terrible.  There is no semblence of any offense, there is no tenacity on defense. It seems like the players re more interested in " styling" then in position rebounding. Also more interested in blocking shots then fundimental positioning as UNC A was killing us from weak side offensive rebounding. The only baskets scored are on one on one moves by Harrison or Jakarr.  No one sets up Marco either.
It's just one big free for all, everyone for themselves out there.  Thevway I see it is that if Lavin does not find a suitable x and o guy things are going to get ugly fast.

We let someone score 31 pts against us tonight.  Dom and Branch were supposed to be 2 of their best players in their class.  How do we let some low-major player go off?  It always seems like we give guys career nights.

Just got back from the game and it was nice to see some fellow posters .. But I have never been more disgusted at this team.  I shouldn't say that because the coaching tonight was non existent.  Offense was the weave after weave and zero spacing and the team tried pressing and trapping to no avail all game.  Zero adjustments were made and the team looked better with Branch in. Yes he throws some hot dog passes.. But at least he throws passes.  Obekpa tries to block everything ( not a bad thing) .. But when he leaves his feet there is nobody to pick up the weak side assignment or get a board .. Not having Orlando ( who knows what's up with him) has left this team needing a player like gods gift in the worst way ..Christian Jones is so disinterested with the game of basketball and cannot be counted on to contribute in any way right now.  Marco if he is not shooting in the corner served zippo purpose on a basketball court.  Problem is that he is never waiting in a stationary position getting it kicked out to him after dribble penetration because the weave doesn't lend itself to that type of play.   D'angelo can score 5 million points a game and I will still feel like he is part of the problem due to his excessive bad on the court body language and his penchant for taking ridiculous shots at times.  Dom and Amir are the lefty / righty version of each other and both can only go a dominant way.  Jakarr played well IMO and unfortunately he just isn't strong enough at this stage of his young career to be a force on the boards.   All in all I love these kids and all of the above mentioned problems can be fixed with some better coaching.  I am just disgusted with this loss.  No way in the world should this team lose this game.  Nobody has a clue as to how many ships we have for next year.. But if we recruit another wing I'm going to lose it.  Point guard and a 4/5 with some strength. Juco or whatever . Terrible loss

Really bad loss. Lavin has a lot to figure out going into the Big East. He should start with demanding intensity for 40 mins. We got up 17 and then slept walk until we were suddenly down 5.

Defense doesn't exist and neither does hustling. Very alarming.

I have to remind myself that we are playing freshmen and sophs but still, playing hard shouldn't be a problem, and it is. This team likes to play in spurts, rather than dig in and play 40 mins. That type of laziness will always hold us back with Lavin.

We have seen a lot of recruits over the years come in with reputations and not live up to them. Add Dom's defense to that list. He never stops anybody from  getting to the rim. Seems like the teams' strategy is lets play as poor on ball defense as we can and let Obekpa get blocks.

This loss isn't about a lack of size, depth or experience. It's about coaching, and Lavin needs a better plan. Luckily for him, he has two weeks to figure out that plan.

Terrible loss.  Long season.  Hopefully this one doesn't bite us in the arse when it comes to CBI vs. NIT.

According to some this is an NIT team right now.

They are still an NIT team at worst.

A wing with a handle a consistent jumper and some slashing ability wouldnt be to bad , but def some size. We just need a guard who can create and get his own shot yet create for others somewhat. Dom and Amir play more like 4's then 3's and def not 2's. We need to delete that weave and institute a motion. Branch made 3 outlet passes in 7 minutes that I haven't seen been made all year I doubt those openings were only There tonight. No way Felix dosent play more.

We dance if we move Phil to the wing, play Felix more, get Sanchez or activate gift. And branch must play 32-34 minutes a game

He probably has until the 2nd week of next semester to withdraw, so that should give us another 4 weeks or so?  Man do we need him bad.
