Maybe, but unlike Cook's departure, the fact that Mo went as someone who no one thought would make the jump to the 15th selection overall no doubt has helped and will help Lavin and the staff with recruiting.

I'd like to think that Cook and Hatten would have been a tourney team and done pretty well.  Had Artest stayed one more year, I think that team would have been a legit national title contender (I know we were ranked high, and were a legit top 10/15 team that year, but I think Artest would have put us into the top 3 or 4.

Just to clarify, when I wrote "damaging" I meant as far as the next season's team on the court.

Got it.  On that basis, I agree with you.  With Moe this year, we're 3-5 wins better at this point.

I am not so sure about that. Yes it was mentioned but those two were very close prior to the ineligibility but some have suggested Moe was turned off when he opened his recruitment.

With or w/o Sampson I would have signed up for Harkless coming back!

Most damaging early departures
1. Berry
2. Artest
3. Harkless
4. Cook
5. Barkley

Where, if anywhere, does Roshown McLeod fit in here if you include him (because he did depart early...)?

Ty Grant and Zendon Hamilton, then Artest. Mcleod was probably better than Grant, but I liked Grant and with Mahoney coaching it wouldn't have mattered. It is amazing that we had that kind of talent. Mahoney could def recruit. Just not at the point.

19 pts and 14 rebs in 42 minutes. Good to see Moe getting some time and continuing to improve.

McLeod was a pussy. Mahoney him in the paint, and that sissy wanted to be a guard. Ty Grant was tough. He was raw as a young player, but he became a solid 4 year guy. And of the best rebounders we've ever had.

Was he a kitten on Duke when he became their best player and I believe averaged a double double or close to it. he would be the leading rebounder on this years team.

He was never their best player. That's insane.

Well I am insane but go check-believe he averaged like 14 and 10 and was their leading scorer for a year and had some time in NBA. May have been when coach K had health issues and they had a few off years.

I always felt he should have gotten more time than Minlend. Just my opinion.
