I like what Lavin did there at the end of the half, to win this game I think were gonna have to speed up the game. Full court press and strong ball pressure will cause some turnovers and get us some easy buckets. As bad as that was, only down 11

The guards have to figure out a way to get Sampson the ball at foul line. It will force one of big guys to challenge  so he can either dump down low or get Harrison or Greene, open jumpers. Oh and a rebound would be nice.

Gotta pick up the defensive intensity and box out on the boards.

Getting consistently beat on the boards and to loose balls. We're not seeing that scrappy, aggressive team that wins games.

We have no role players. No hustlers, no rebounders etc. we have athletes

I dont see how this changes much.  Our ability to get good shots has always been an issue and it goes hand in hand with our bad shot selection.  Against a team this good defensively its just not a good matchup.  Compare how difficult our shots are to Georgetown.  It's a huge difference.   Add in that we cant rebound are getting out hustled, it's gonna be tough to make up 11 points.  Need Georgetown to go real cold.

Says it all;

“@ECoastBias: The Hoyas shot 80% inside the arc, grabbed two-thirds of the available offensive rebounds. 8 made FTs keep #stjbb within 11.”

We are losing because we can't rebound.  That's on kids, not coach.

We're losing becase they have 17 buckets and we have 9. Even with them outrebounding us, we'd be in the game if we could get some easier buckets against their zone. We turned them over 8 times, which almost cancels out the rebounding. Bottom line, we struggled mightily against their zone last time and we're doing nothing differently than we did the last time. Instead of putting a guy at the foul line, flash him to the foul line. Throw a freakin weakside alley oop to Sampson. Something. Anything except passing the ball around the perimeter and setting that stupid pick at the top of the zone. It. Doesn't. Work.

17 buckets to 9 sounds about right. The get at least 2 chances every possession.

Our zone is so bad. No one rotates to the open shooter.
