We kicked the dog while it was down and it worked.  Did we have an inkling that the NCAA would start taking on water after Miami and such?  I have to think we knew our spot and picked it and pounced on it.

Must confess was selling Lavin short on the talk of next year as a possible breakout year. Things haven't looked this bright in a lot of years.

Great news for Sanchez, the team, the school and for we diehard fans.

Absolutely great news!  I hope this doesn't have an impact on JaKarr potentially testing the waters. Sorry just thinking out loud.  Hopefully he'll look at as a positive and that hell be able to migrate out to the perimeter.
*wipes ketchup from his eyes* - I guess Heinz sight isn’t 20/20.

Lavin is a PR machine.  We all know that.  He is going to recruit these kids that next year is the year.  He is going to re-recruit Karr and others to stay on for next year and you could be here for something damn special.  Its his biggest trait as we know.  Hope it works.

Great news and the right result, albeit a little late!  I wonder if Lavin would have redshirted GG if he knew Sanchez was only going to be eligible for next year.

Was Hooper a JUCO all-american?   Because he's the only other player we have sitting out who might contribute next year.

From Gifts Bio on Red Storm Sports.com:
Earned first team NJCAA All-America honors as a sophomore in 2010-11 after leading Erie Community College to a 28-4 record and a fourth place finish in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Tournament

I'm really happy for this kid first and foremost. He deserves the success he has. I bet he comes out next year hungry, prepared and dangerous.

Just as a comparison:

SU 11-12, Coleman, Keita, Southerland & Christmas.
SJ 12-13, Sampson, Obekpa, Gift & Sanchez.

We match up.
