Ron Roberts is playing at a more suitable level. Put him at the Big East and he wouldn't have the same stats. Keep in mind if Polee/Roberts was still at St. John's it might mean no Dom Pointer, Amir Garrett, or someone else.

Dave, no offense, but that's a cop out. The BE is pretty overrated this year. Roberts averaged almost a double double in a conference that is just as good. He's played against strong competition and he's performed well.

I like Pointer and Garrett, but let's be real here. They play well against Rutgers and Depaul. What about Syracuse, Georgetown, Louisville etc.???

How do you think Pointer or Garrett would do in the A10? And Pointer has played well against a lot of BE teams this year.

Not a cop out. I've spoken to many coaches within the A-10 and who have played against St. Joe's past two years and they all say the same thing. There hasn't been 1 coach that said St. John's made a mistake or that Ron Roberts could play at Big East level.

That isn't to take anything away from Ron Roberts who is having a fine career.

These coaches think Roberts isn't good enough to play in the BE, are they are aware that we aren't good enough to play in the BE? We have 14 losses. Where do we get off?

Roberts had 18 and 12 vs Temple. 12 and 9 vs Butler. That's BE material.

Question: could we play in the A10? Would we do any better? I don't think so.

I would sure hope he had 12 rebounds when Temple shot 31 threes that game. To his credit 6 of them were offensive rebounds. Just to use your measuring stick against you he had 6 and 2 against Coppin St and 8 and 4 against Harvard. So whatever that means.

He's been in the right place to mature his game and develop. He would be serviable for St. John's there is no doubt but the best move for Ron Roberts was to go to St. Joe's. The likely hood for Ron Roberts was he would have been recruited over which was obviously attempted with Lebryan Nash, Rico Gathers, Kyle Anderson, Jermaine Lawrence. He wasn't going to be an impact guy so he went to more appropriate level. Don't forget when Norm Roberts recruited him he was 6'6 hopeful 6'7 and getting recruited by mostly local area teams A-10 teams and bottom feeder Big 10 school Penn State. Now he is 6'8

We're not good enough to play in the A-10?!?!?!?!?! You are talking out your %$&!. We got 8 wins in the BE this year with a bunch of soph and freshman, we improved from last year, what are you expecting? This was a dead program for the past decade. The issue isn't Coach Lavin, the problem is delusional, malcontent fans who clearly have no concept.

Just because he wasn't being recruited doesn't mean he shouldn't have been. I'm all for coach getting his own guys, he comes out looking foolish when they transfer after one season, never make it here at all or end up ineligible to play.

For the record, I see only subtle differences between the A10 and the BE this season. Of Roberts can play in the A10 it automatically means he can play in the BE. Are we supposed to believe that he couldn't have played well against the 5 BS teams we beat and the 3 average ones in conference?

Put the look aid down. We one win over a ranked team for the entire season. We are 16-14. 5 of our BE wins we're against teams that would get housed by half of the teams in the A10.

So you seriously believe we couldn't compete in the A-10. Ok so the fact that 3 of our BE wins were against 2 ranked teams and we were right there to win most of our games mean nothing? How are you able to quantify your position? Are you just looking at the records, or are you able to assess the talent level in both leagues? The A-10 have 5-6 quality programs, Xavier is down this year. But the rest of the A-10 is horrible. R and SH would have a .500 record if they played in the A-10.

Ron Roberts would be a starter playing major minutes on this team.

Not saying he is superstar but if you saw him play as a Senior in high school you could tell there was a ton of potential there. I never understood Lavin's decision to let go. He would have come into a great situation to be mentored by a Senior laden class.

Was Roberts promised anything from Norm that the new regime wouldn't promise?

Starting or playing time?   I doubt it, but just throwing it out there.

What makes you think we're so great we could beat Butler, VCU, Temple or St.Louis?

Do we wade our criticism of Lavin because of all that he had to deal with, or do we judge him on one product? Which would us in March. We are 16-14.

Our line up could have been Branch, Harrison, Sampson, Harkless & Sanchez w a sick bench.

But it wasn't.
