We won 8 games in the BE this year.... ::)

Scary how close we were to 10 also.  Harrison plays we win 10.  Also there was the whole Rutgers clunker that Branch didnt play.

Do we wade our criticism of Lavin because of all that he had to deal with, or do we judge him on one product? Which would us in March. We are 16-14.

Our line up could have been Branch, Harrison, Sampson, Harkless & Sanchez w a sick bench.

But it wasn't.

  You can criticize all you want. Your a fan and a paying customer.  You know what they say, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

    I'm just trying to figure out what point your trying to make.  You said this team would win 8 games in the A-10. We won 8 games this year in the Big east. Are you saying the Big East and  A-10 are equal?

I think we'd be 5th in the A-10.

If we Make it to the NIT would you considered this a positive step forward from last year? How many wins would we have to win to be really excited for next year? Or is it that whatever we did this year would be a bonus because next year is the real beganing of SJU being consistently revelant again?

So, Poison, you're saying that

 Saint Louis = Louisville
 VCU = Georgetown
 Butler = Syracuse
 Temple = Marquette
 La Salle = Pittsburgh
 Massachusetts =  Notre Dame
 Xavier = Villanova
 Charlotte = Connecticut
 St. Joseph's = Cincinnati
 Richmond   = Providence

C'mon!

We are about as good as UMass, Xavier, St.Joseph's and Dayton. LaSalle, VCU, Temple, Butler, St.Louis, and maybe Charlotte are all better than us.

Can someone explain to me how beating Seton Hall, Depaul, Rutgers & USF is worthy of more credit than beating GW, Fordham & Rhode Island? What's the difference?

I would consider this is great growing pains season w solid step forward PROVIDED all of our key players return, including Harrison, and everyone is eligible to play.

If we lose Sampson and Harrison, this program is big trouble. Obviously.

No. I'll give you Butler, VCU, and St. Louis. Possibly La Salle and Xavier. But no way is a team that has fewer or the same amount of A10 wins than we have BE wins better than us. Those schools don't have to play G'Town, Syracuse, Marquette, UConn, 'Nova, ND, Pitt, Louisville and Cincy. I'm sorry but the two conferences are not in the same discussion.

So the Temple team that beat SU at MSG doesn't get any respect? I think you're looking at the BE with rose colored glasses. We'll learn a lot more in two weeks. I'm sure we'll send 8 or 9 teams dancing, and the A10 will send 5 or 6.

Who's teams go further will answer questions. Two years the BE was the shit, until 10 teams went home early.

My point is we would have a few more wins if we played in the A10. I'm really not sure how you can dispute that.

You're disagreeing that Depaul, Rutgers, Hall and USF are equal to the bottom feeders in the A10? They absolutely are equal. It's the same thing.

Teams like Fordham and GW are well below any team in BE. Fordham, in particular, really stinks. They should have stayed in Patriot League

Well first off, I think SH, Depaul and USF would have closer to 7 conference wins in the A10. You don't seem to understand that those A10 teams don't have to play the brutal BE schedule that we have to. I would rather play VCU, St. Louis, and La Salle than Syracuse, Louisville and G-Town.

You're probably right. But I like our chances against them more than 'Cuse, G'town or Louisville.

Poison, no offense, but you continue to miss the point.  The a-10 and the BE are nowhere near equals.

 You made that statement.  If your defense of this  is that "VCU would take our lunch money", you are arguing a different point entirely. VCU would beat us...  Has nothing to do with what your original point was.

You can take it a step further the Big 10 is the best conference.

Just  because PSU and Nebraska and Northwestern were bad does not mean they would be equally bad in the A-10 or that the conferences are comparable.

Take the top 3 teams in the BE and they were 10-1 against SHU, DePaul and USF.  That's the point.
