Norvel Pelle (7'0") - 2013 NBA Prospect

Its sad that he never got to show his stuff at st.john's.  with that talent would have been one of the best.  hope he finds a home somewhere in the nba.

What a shame

Just should have finished year at Phelps to get eligible or go Juco

Hasn't played ball in 2 years

Don't see how he can even make an NBDL roster

what a waste of talent. even playing an iona would have done him some good. i always wondered if jakarr, moe and pelle played together like they were supposed how the team would have looked like.

It would have been a year similar to this one I think but would have been fun to watch. Nuri was the wildcard and we know how that turned out.

You would have had

Pelle, Moe, Jakarr, Dee, and Greene as your starting 5
With GG, Dom, and Amir off bench

Stith and Nui left during season

Pelle = Lenny Cooke

Not sure that's a good comparison.  Lenny was a consensus "pre-college" great.   Get  his issues in order, EVERYONE thought  he'd be a great player.  He dominated competition.   Pelle, there was never a consensus.  One poll would say best center prospect in the class, another wouldn't have in in their top 100.   One game he'd be highlight reel, next 2 or 3 games he'd disappear.

Pelle is just a sad sad story.  If he could have just cared a little bit about school.  Hard to believe he missed 2 years of college competition and development.  Michael Chandler is another one.

Pelle is just a sad sad story.

Nothing sad here about a young man who made bad choices.

The kid is an abolute idiot on and off the court. The choices before him were simple - do your school work abd get eligible or do nothing and let the greatest opportunity of your life float away.

This is not a kid who got himself involved in drugs or was caught up in criminal activity, he just didn't go to school and take care of his business.

He didn't deserve the chance in college.

agree; that is why making kids not eligible for right out of HS is wrong.  school ain't for everyone--he should have been in a developmental league from the get go

FWIW he could have been in the developmental league from the get go.  It's just the NBA that has the age/school restriction.  Surprised more kids don't use that as their one year when they're taking the one and done approach, unless of course they think they're more likely to be exposed playing against real men/NBA players than playing against other college kids.

That guy was not his brother. Just another hanger-on who got a kid nowhere.
