“@JonRothstein: The unsung presence for St. John's next year is Orlando Sanchez. 6-9 F could be Red Storm's most skilled player. Will have an impact. #stjbb”

More skilled than Sir Dom?  Wow

HUH? What exactly is Dom skilled in-- he is not a good ball handler or shooter. He can run and jump

Best 1-on-1 defender on this team.

Indeed , but defense isn't considered a skill- at least I dont think that is what Rothstein was speaking of.

OK, you and I just have different definitions of the word "skill."  What Rothstein means by it, I don't know.

Agree with CC. Dom has got to improve his handle, shooting , and passing to be considered most skilled. Having said that he did improve last year but has to continue that process. As a defender, that's a different story

When Dom is the 6th or 7th scoring option, he'll be awesome. As the 2nd, he's not awesome.

I don't disagree when you guys say Dom needs to continue improving, I think that that's very true.

But he did lead us in assists last year and was very respectable shooting from the field, and behind the arc (in limited attempts).   His 65% from the line wasn't great, but if he needs to improve his passing and shooting (and he probably does) - then the same can be said for literally everyone on the team.  Especially his backcourt mates Phil and Jamal.

There is some wisdom here.

Dom is not skilled by any definition.  Defense is mostly about desire and hustle--two thing Dom has in abundance.  His fundamentals on defense can use a lot of work.

But no one is claiming that Phil or Branch are the most skilled. Dom will never be a great offensive player. His ticket will always be as a lockdown defender, and as such not a candidate for "most skilled". And as mentioned his offense will improve as the team is able to rely on it less and less.

I think Dom may not be great at anything. But he is certainly good at a lot if things. He has had games where he scored, assisted. rebounded, had steals and played great D. He is the glue guy.

Dom is a great athlete. Dom is great at playing hard. Playing hard is a skill in my mind. He gets more loose balls and more 50/50 rebounds then the guys he is playing against. I tHink he is a good but not great deFender. As a basketball player he is getting better.

Paultzman, he was doing more for this team than anyone else in the second half of his second season.  He was doing more than just running and jumping.

Watch him more closely.

You have the wrong person. Never said anything about Dom. believe you meant CC.
