Clearly, he was the difference in this game. Bucknell, is no cupcake despite what a couple of trolls have posted, and they manhandled us for most of the game, but when Lavin put Obekpa out there with Sanchez, Bucknell had no path to the basket. HE is the key to the match up zone. He allows our guys to get out on shooters–which we did, and he controlled the paint as well.
I know Lavin is still working on his starting 5, but Obekpa, because of this, is the key to our success. I don't understand why we can't play man to man defense. It's a mystery to me, but if Obekpa is guarding the basket, I can see the match up zone winning games for us. So, I'm ok w it.
What do we think?
