It was, I agree, an 80-20 advantage for us in the Pitt game. G'town fans are about an even split. They don't pack the place like Cuse does but they do neutralize the home advantage. Nova brings in a large crowd but it isn't as large, nor as enthusiastic, as the other two.The bigger problem is the empty seats that outnumber our fans.
82-60 SYR: CJ has 20 FTs and ends up with 35+ with none inside the paint. All will be FTs, baseline jumpers, 3 pointers.

They get a little loud they be walked from their seats to their bus. We been down to long. This has nothing to do with who went to what school. New Yorkers love the game when played right. They ain't gonna scream and full the place up for teams that come out soft. We start playing the right kind of ball Spike and any hoop lover off the street gonna make this a unhappy hoops destination for college kids wanting to come into MSG and make fun of the Johnnies. SJU fans get a lot of help pulling for our team by people who don't care what the tickets cost. We good, we fly. We stink up the joint we die. Coach Steve knows what his job is. If he can't get it done, no point hanging around. I feel our guys might want it more Sunday. They must learn how to want any old game more. Then they must hate losing. Then they be good.
This is the only game that matters this season. I'd trade losing out for a win on Sunday. There is nothing worse on this planet than a Syracuse fan.

I think that is more because those games have been closer. The one Duke game I saw we were ahead a good portion and the Cuse games have been blowouts to my memory.
If I may so add my few cents to this discussion:One, perhaps very key aspect to this game that I'm not sure has been discussed yet: The referees. These should be big-east refs, so hopefully we'll get some solid home-cooking calls. I'm hoping the refs hold a grudge against Excuse give SJU the benefit of the doubt on a every toss-up call. I'm all for beating them fair and square, but getting some help from the zebras might not hurt.

They eat our food, they drink our beer. They make themselves comfortable, and they beat the living hell out of us every time. I can't think of a more one sided "rivalry" in college basketball. Really, anywhere in college basketball? Can anyone? But in fairness, we've got more experience than they do. They have one ball handler in the backcourt. It's time we came out of the gate and defended our home court. We want to be New York's Team? Let's stop announcing it, and let's man up and prove it.
