I think the nature of transfers and college basketball has shifted where if anything goes down, some guys run.
I think Rysheed is stronger than your average kid, and seems very loyal to the program. He's had a rough start to his season, and I'm sure adjusting to college life has been tough for him. It's unfortunate we speculate so much, but that's the nature of the game these days. When the going get's tough, most kid's leave.
SJU has had our fair share of transfers the last few years, but I think that played more into how our team was so depleted from talent, Lavin had to take risks his first few years to get players in. We are no longer in that position and I think the quality/attitude of our student athletes will continue to get better each year. No more reaching for the Pelle's and Nuri's of the world, and more finding guys that fit the system, Lavin's style of coaching, and want to be here.
I think Rysheed comes out tomorrow and goes for 15 and 5, gets to the rim a lot, and shoots about 6-8 FT's.
How many players have left the team, and how many were any good?
Quincy Roberts
Polee
Nuri
Amir Garrett
Omari Lawrence
Stith
Am I forgetting anyone?
I think the term "good" needs to be better defined for the above question.

I was just running off the list, I don't necessarily think they were all good players.
For my money though Quincy R could have helped, as could Ron Roberts.
He's no great shakes, but we were so shorthanded coach's second year that Polee would have been a big help that year - but after that I doubt he would've played.
For the same reason Nuri would've been very helpful that year. We needed bodies
Regardless of ability though, Amir's transfer bothers me more than all of the others. No one says it, but he must have been told to leave. We needed room for jordan. That's the way of the world I guess, but I think Amir represented the university very well while he was here, and seemed like a good person. He deserved to be part of a winning team, like the one we might have this year.
