Balding takes gratuitous shots and starts irresponsible rumors all the time.  Anybody who is just realizing this hasn't paid attention.  Baldi is no fan of SJU and I'm certain about that.   Constantly trying to start trouble here.

No but this is over the top even for him.  Here is a kid, Jordan, who has recovered from an earlier suspension to put together the best basketball of his still early career and now he is faced with a sick mother and this so called poster with ZERO credibility (the same person who said he heard Pelle would qualify at Iona) begins to question this kid's commitment to SJU and talking about getting a waiver as he is trying to deal with sick mom is beyond disgusting.

If I pretended to be a fan of a team to post on their message board and cause trouble, I'd hope a friend (or even someone who I don't know) would tell me to seriously reconsider how I was spending my time.  If the moderators won't block this tool, people should just ignore him.  It makes people who visit this site to have objective conversation and discussion about a team they like not want to do so.  I know many here don't visit other boards because they are filled with clowns who have nothing better to do than spew nonsense and annoy people.

Baldi is a pot stirrer, but he does not personally attack posters when they disagree with his post (which happens often). Personally, I like boards with diverse views to keep things engaging, as long as some degree of decorum is maintained while competing views are debated. Otherwise, a homogeneous stream of posts makes for a dull thread. As others have said, ignore his posts if you disagree with him, but I encourage Baldi to post. Someone has to be the foil around here.

I enjoy reading about differing takes and diverse views.  There are many, many posters who are often critical of the coach, the staff, the players and/or the university.  As long as the commentary is rational, objective or even in good fun, than I do not see it as detracting those from visiting this site.
But I can tell you that there are a slew of us who used to be very active on other boards, and now only frequent this one, because those other boards were filled with people who clogged threads with nonsense.  And that is what that guy was doing today.  Like I said, I don't get why anyone would spend valuable free time clogging a message board for a team you don't even root for with BS.  But apparently people do.  It makes people not want to visit this site and find something new.

I have PM'ed with two others who had a view or theory regarding Jordan that was different than the norm.  They will be the first to tell you that there was no animosity and that their information was much appreciated.  But the nonsense should stop.

He's more than a pot stirrer.  He's a fan of another team that is constantly causing trouble aka interloper.  if it was a SJU fan with differing opinions, then fine.  That's not the case though.  He's irresponsibly flaming the board becuse he's not a SJU fan.

AMEN--maybe it is time for the moderator to shut down the Iona thread; it means nothing to us and just takes up server space

Having an opinion is one thing, but conjuring up non-sense for the sake of upsetting the fan base considering the situation is irresponsible, plain and simple. Not to mention disrespectful to a young man who is dealing with a very serious personal issue. There are certain things that should be left alone.

If coach wanted to take minutes away from Max he should just play Jordan/Dom/Branch/Green the extra minutes.   Those 4 guys couldn't collectively take on 8 minutes combined?

I don't believe coach believe Max would contribute much this year, especially during Big East play. I believe the Felix move was more about the horrid offensive play of Branch and Dom.

This pilling-on is pathetic.

Baldi  made entirely sensible points, and didn't lash out until posters intentionally went after Iona just to get under his skin and provoke a reaction, so they could say " I told you so".

Nothing is more infuriating than when the censorship mob goes on the attack.

I disagree he posts like his word is the gospel when he obviously knows nothing just to stir things up.

I am 100% percent right on everything I posted.  All the homers are too blind to see what is really going on.

I find all your posts humorous . This kid gets suspended. Leaves school right after finals. Why did he leave right after finals ?  Because he was told to reevaluate himself . Kid has been a problem since he stepped on campus.  Open your eyes

I agree.  Another highly thought of poster on this board made an educated guess in a respectful manner that Jordan may not come back.  He made this comment based on background info and the timing of redshirt etc.  Totally makes sense where someone could come to that conclusion.  Baldi on the other hand loves to make a spectacle of things especially when they are negative(lavin to usc a few years back). He may have actually had credible sources stating he was wavering on coming back, but what makes him so unbearable is his delivery.

So he didn't leave because of a family illness? Was he told that or are you just stating he was told that because your eyes are open?

He was sent home to rethink his situation.

I tried read back a few pages of this thread and there has been a lot of puzzling happenings in St. John's hoops.

Activating Felix now, with no one on the team being injured is really quite puzzling, unless someone was going to transfer. So Baldi isn't so far fetched in his opinion.

He basically forfeited a half a year twice now. Having him redshirt this year made a ton of sense from a playing time perspective and overall scholarship balance standpoint too.

As for Jordan he's had a lot of people in his ear back home. I think he's had a tough time dealing with a number of things which have been magnified by the fact he has missed some random games. I truly don't know the whole story with this as it has been very hush. I think in the end it all works out.

Lastly Marco Baldi has been a poster here since day 1. He's a fan of St. John's and you can't take everything he says so damn seriously. I think you guys should all know who likes to joke, exaggerate, serious, or be talked off the ledge. I'm not sure with what being a fan or not being a fan has to do with posting here. We've had a lot of guys over the years who root for other teams be welcomed posters here and I can say Baldi isn't one of them. He roots for St. John's and he so happens to root for Iona too. Not uncommon. Everyone lighten up a bit and enjoy.

If there is a problem...PM me or any of the mods. We'll monitor and handle any issues. No need to call each other names.

FYI....USC job was being floated. Pay was more, power conference, better facilities, back home, and could stick it to UCLA. It had some legs.

For one, I'm not buying that he's a SJU fan.  He's an Iona fan. It does make  a difference, because he then goes on to rag on SJU calling it a second rate program, make up stuff about Jordan as if it's fact etc.  Maybe because you know the guy it comes off as innocuous, but as you can see from the responses he gets by lots of posters, it's a real annoyance.
