Will our twenty player rotation be refined by BE play?  :)

Defense is terrible. Subbing guys in and out every other second is worse.

seriously,  you get the feeling there is no continuity. Guys just get their feet wet and there is someone waiting at the scorers table for them. Its maddening sometimes

It better be. We can't go even a couple minutes without at least one of Jordan and Dlo on the floor in BE games

defense was good on ball, rebounding left  alot to be desired. They are packing it in tight. Seems like we are driving into 3 people always in the paint.

I don't mind the rotations.  Our depth will be one of our biggest assets over the course of the season.

Too much one on one street ball thus far. If we don't intend to press all day, which I'm not suggesting, should we not set up an eight, tops nine man rotation?

Our depth will only be an advantage if we are playing an up and down game wearing the other team out while we sub fresh guys in and out every few minutes

Let's talk about luke petrasek what a steal by Columbia, the kid looks great about two inches taller from last year and plays with great poise and patience. He was an after thought but kid def looks good.

Not a particularly encouraging performance entering the conference season. Hope they can turn it up Tuesday. Getting a road win against somebody other than Depaul or SHU would be huge

Solid game by Jordan especially with 4 fouls at the end of the games. On to BE play worth no major upset loses in the OOC. Unfortunately we are a game back on where we should be.

Not our best performance but not our worst either.  Columbia is pretty good and threw a lot of things at us.  They mixed it up, packed it in and had some size and shooting ability.  We played some of our best man defense all season at times, but allowed ourselves too many breakdowns as well.  Didn't rebound consistently.

Jordan was real good and overall our offense was fair.  We are a much better offensive team than we have been in recent years though.    I'm happy with the win against a Columbia team that is not a bad team by any stretch.

We played like a team coming off Christmas break that didn't get much work in this week. Ironically though I thought Sheed played great and he missed last game.

I think we loose that game last year if we had Phil at the wheel to end it, rysheed makes a HUGE difference. Very curious to see how he continues to mature this season.... However On to Louisville vs Kentucky this game is action packed !

Definitely felt like a Christmas hangover game. I'm ready for Tuesday.

Again up 48-34 and they take their foot off gas.  Give Columbia credit but SJU really needs a killer instinct.

9-3, I'll take it though.  Xavier Tuesday, should be a war.  SJU has won their last 3 trips to the Queen City in the Lavin era...:)

Hopefully they stay in the same hotel...:)

I sat right next to the bench for this game. I gain a lot more respect for Lavin today! Everything we complain about in the Jungle he is telling his players. Full court press , crash the glass harder  cover their shooters , attack the zone. And he is constantly saying it he went from a blow horn , to horse after the game. He  was doing a lot more teaching and X & Os than I thought he does.

Teams with a high IQ we definitely struggle with we have to turn up our pressure or get picked a part like we did today.
Attack basketball, pressure defense, 40 minutes of hell ... Early on it might be 30 minutes of hell, then 10 minutes of what the hell are you doing?"

You should mind them, and Lavin should be better at them by now. It's late Dec, and he still yanks players who are playing well, and then sticks a line up out there w no jump shooters. The players took it east today, but I don't know what coach was thinking. Seemed like he was in a mood.

If we made our free throws, we'd have won by 12-15, but it was just one of those games.
Still, give Columbia credit. They had us playing their game in the second half.

Hooper should lose minutes to Felix. I know we've barely seen him, but the kid hustles, and Hooper simply doesn't.
