Solid game by Jordan especially with 4 fouls at the end of the games. On to BE play worth no major upset loses in the OOC. ...

Ummm if Penn State finishes in the bottom 4 of the Big 10 like they're projected to finish then that will count as a bad loss.  Right now we have 0 good wins and 1 (likely) bad loss.

No not necessarily.  Don't confuse a game SJU should have probably won (which I agree with) with a BAD loss.  The committee considers a bad loss outside the RPI top 100.  A bottom 4 team in the Big 10, because of the strength of the conference, can more then finish in the top 100 and PSU (just barely) is in the top 100.

Keep in mind Providence has a loss to Maryland.  On the surface that is not a disaster, Maryland was projected to be a middle of the pack ACC team, but MD right now is around the 130's in the RPI.  That is not good.

Rysheed had positive impact today.  when he went out with 4th foul at the 12 minute mark we were up by 8; when he came back with 7 to go we were up by only 1 point.  Was disappointed that Dangelo only took 9 shots but defensively he was very active.

Got figure how to  get more folks to the Barclay Center. It is a good venue/good site lines/good food choices and lots of places to go outside the arena

To many New Yorkers going to Brooklyn is still like voluntarily jumping into the Black Hole of Calcutta. You can go into Brooklyn, but there's no guarantee you'll get out of there.

Thomas Wolfe once wrote a short story called, "Only the Dead Know Brooklyn." In it a guy gets lost and sticks his head out of the window of his car asking what looks like a native for directions. The native thinks for a minute, and then tells him, "You can't get there from here."

If it was a good venue, people would go. It's a terrible venue, so people don't want any part of it. We were told for years about this Russian billionaire. This is what that f*ck built? It looks like an airport. On a scale of 1-10, I give it a 3. I give alumni hall a 6, and MSG a 9.

Honestly, I'd rather go to Long Island, or even Newark to see a game.

Place is a dump, so is the neighborhood. Hipster bars in the vicinity can't fit 10 people. I'll never go back

When Harrison got caught guarding a big on a switch in the second half, our bigs were terrible in helping out...something we need to correct for the future......

Interesting. Tiznow was saying yesterday to me as we walked in that a friend of his doesn't like Barclays because he has trouble seeing with the type of lighting they use. First time I really noticed it. Personally I like the Barclays. Don't love it but I like it. Hate the outside look of the building but I like the entrance and the seats aren't bad.

The place does have a sort of industrial warehouse feel though. No way does it have the same electricity type of feel that the garden has. I still like it much better than Carnesseca just for the fact that my back and ass don't hurt when I leave the arena.

I give Carnesseca a 2
Barclays a 6
MSG a 11

Go Penn state then!
The question will be is why of all years did we pick a softer schdule OOC. Is it because the BE was supposed to be tougher?
We do well in BE play then the question is moot.

we've played two top 5 teams in the OOC. Every team schedules cupcakes.

I saw Pearl Jam twice there recently. Sounded like I was In someone's garage. The seats are made for stick figure supermodels

neither the physical arena nor its location are responsible for a poor fan turnout.  It's that the team relies on us, the season ticket-holding die hards, to attend every game including these neutral site games that are not part of the season package.  When the 3,000 who attend every game opt to watch one on their couches, attendance will stink because we don't have enough casual fans.  That's why Barclays blows for St John's games.

I like Barclay's.  Easy to get to.  The neighborhood is fine and there's plenty of space surrounding the bathrooms and concession areas.  Plus it's something new and different.

I think they dropped the beer prices too.  It was a tad under $10 now.  Agree that it's acoustically poor for concerts,  (So is the garden) but that's not a concern for sporting events.

The rust colored exterior is puzzling.

And cheaper concessions. I would say better food also since i had he crappiest $15 burger ever but I can't honestly say anything about the food since they only have half the places open during our games.

I like Barclays. Good sight lines, concessions, and it's different. No it's not the Garden but nothing is. Please don't use it in the same sentence with CA, or Newark. If the a rear of a donkeys who inhabit the area hadnt made such a stink when it was being constructed they wouldnt have had to diminish the size to accomodate the neighborhood.

And for all you suburbanites, Brooklyn, including that neighborhood is hot as a pistol. Great place for an arena and to develop a home away from home. No, I don't consider CA anything other then a ome for midgets and those without a backbone. Too bad we can't get a legitimate fan base to spread the word in Brooklyn.

I had a bottle of water in the 1st half which cost $5. Then I realized it would be cheaper to drink beer the rest of the game

Hoops fans will watch their team play a game in any venue.  The sad fact is that Johnny fans are rare.

When this team wins the casual fan and critical posters will return and watch this team play a game in Brooklyn.

The downside is that $20 seats will cost us $30..

By the way, juniors was packed. They had more people than Barclays.

I would have went yesterday if I could. But its a lot to ask a casual fan to spend premium money to see us vs Columbia. Didn't ohio st. just come to NYC to play Notre dame? That  is a game people would pay to see.

Columbia should be a CA game.  If we're gonna be in a tourney, we have to hold out for quality opponents.  Despite the close score, this is not the opponent we should agree to play in a feature game.  Also, we need to stop being the matinee in a three game card.

while the Barclay offers a great diversity of "Brooklyn" food, I would recommend you avoid the Spumoni Gardens pizza-  it is an embarrassment to the pizza served at Spumoni Gardens on 86th street near Avenue U which is really great.  A friend had a slice of the their famous square yesterday and one look said no way.

watched half of the K State/Tulane game that was dreadful--whoever invited Tulane should be axed.  Felt sorry for the VCU fans who had to sit through the second half.  Chatted with a few of them who came up to see their team,  They seem to be good folks who love their Basket Ball

After the game we walked down 4th Ave to a bar called the Sheep Station (not a tiny place holding 9 or 10 people) and had a few and the went to dinner at Dinosaur BBQ on Union Street which is at most a 15 minute walk from Barclay.

The Nathans fries and Goose Island ale was good.  The free refills on popcorn is a nice touch.
