It's not that we started 0-2. It's that we show no poise and do not demonstrate the ability to play winning basketball at the highest level.  At worst I expected the team to appear to have its sht together at this point.

We sucked today, end of story.

The line up shuffles are some of the oddest stuff I have ever seen by a coach but I can only think there is a lot going on behind the scenes right now that we just don't know about.

This team is brutally underperforming. Today's effort is/was embarrassing.

Ferment in locker room bubbling over. This is not about a loss or two, much more serious IMO.
Is the whole team fermenting? One or two players? Is it the coaching staff? Is there a cause for this fermenting? I'm not trying to be cute. Your a great poster, but the much more serious wording cries out for a little more info even if it's just your opinion.

Are we talking a player mutiny that might force a Coaching decision?  I thought our Program had endured enough nightmares to last a eternity..

Should we prepare for another one?  Bread and milk are always good to stock up on if a new Armageddon is looming.. How much should we buy?

This game was Lavin's attempt to have our games nationally televised as part of CBS's Monday night comedy line-up! As some posters like to respond: COMICAL!

With our large cadre of coaches, can't one be responsible for getting some bozos on the bus on time? This is getting ridiculous  and emblematic of a undisciplined team culture. Like our play!

This was a post from the Georgetown boards site.  I guess even those who don't follow the team closely see it...............

BTW, will someone tell me why Lavin is still at St. John's? Every time I see St. John's play they look totally unprepared. We have several major weaknesses none of which Lavin's teams ever seem able to take advantage of.

Guys try to remember that last year Georgetown started out 0-2 in the BE last year with our second loss being a 28 point loss to Pittsburgh at the Verizon Center. Immediately after that game it was announced Greg Whittington was no longer eligible. Many people thought the year was over at that point.

St. John's can turn it around if it just makes some small adjustments:

1) Pick a starting line up and stick with it. I'd go with Jordan, Harrison, Pointer, Sampson, and Obekpa. Then i'd have Sanchez, Green, Hooper, and Branch  off the bench in that order.

2) Press. St. John's should be playing the way Georgetown did in the first half. Press your opponent and attack quickly. St. John's needs to play to their strengths. They're athletic, but they don't have great shot makers. They cannot rely on their half court offense. They need to swarm on defense and let the shot blocker be your safety net. I don't think that's too much for Lavin. I'm not asking for an actual offense to be put in. Just attack attack attack on offense and defense. Just force turnovers, drive, and crash the boards.

What your saying is the same thing we have been saying. The problem seems to be Lavins inability to go w the obvious. Would GT start a mediocre walk on against us?

I agree with hoya. We have seen teams bounce back from a shaky conference start. However we have no Otto Porter on this team nor have we shown any characteristics of a good basketball team.  That being said I'm not pushing the panic button until I see how we respond Saturday against a good Nova team. I think we will see better effort but at this stage we need wins now and I'm not confident we can beat a well coached, balanced Villanova team.
