Playing against weaker comp, lesser athletes, and not having to play defense will also help.  Just trying to be fair brother...

What more could they offer him? More Pt? Walter Berry game worn jock strap? Lavin's first born? Carmine's phone number?

More PT + not having to sit a year so as to play overseas one year earlier.

That would be my pitch.

That would be my pitch.

Mine would be:
Harrison and Jordan have to play 40 minutes each or we will get blown out by everyone, don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Shortsighted at best.  Tossing away depth like a fickle king tossing away a bone is not too wise.  Yeah, I'm upset too about what has transpired, but Phil has enough to be a backup that will be hard to replace for next season if he leaves.  That's reality.

This one is just bizarre, I would not make any promises to him at all. If he is not happy with his circumstances now, how will he react if he plays less? Unless you want him to continue to get minutes over Harrison, Jordan and Branch?

Phil could log 25 min/gm and DLo, Sheed, and Branch will get plenty of minutes.  I can see a 3, sometimes 4 guard lineup getting heavy traction out of necessity next season.  Yes, it will be ugly as we currently stand.

Phil getting 25/gm would be 0.1 min/gm more than this past season - hah

@cwih34 @JayOn_1 @CV_26 Lavin is the coach. That isn't changing right now.

he also tweeted last minute efforts to convince PG4 to stay dont seem like they are working

We all know Lavin is the coach and it isn't changing 'right now". What about 5 minutes from now? That statement tells us nothing. Tell us what lavin is doing or thinking or what the people that matter at STJ are thinking or doing.

As someone with little to no inside info I still don't see Phil leaving. He is going to get a ton PT and posted a video just a couple hours ago shooting around with the managers in Taffner on the day he was supposed to be leaving. I don't see him sitting out a year somewhere just to play one more year at another school. Who knows but just doesnt add up to me at all.

Speaking if bad news... I guess the AAC is the better conference and UCONN gets the last laugh. Congrats to UCONN but un freaken believable that UCONN can get quality players to Conneticut but we cant get quality players to come and stay in NYC...

after a frustrating season, we have an even worse off season (that officially starts now) and we still have no ideal where anything stands with this program. The sad fact is that their is enough buzz around that our coach may not even be back next year...

Trust me, I`m with Lavin. Crappy coach, now losing players. We need a former player who loves SJU.
MULLIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He knows the game, and get a few recruiting aces here as well.  He`ll work his ass off to get us back where we belong.

Read that this AM - great article. They've got a winner in Ollie. Well see if he stays or gets scooped up by the lakers or some other nba team.
