Kind of dramatic to create your own thread to announce your departure. At least when Gonzalo departs biannually he deletes his account.

Anyways I think the real point here is to keep diversity in conversation. I get there is plenty to vent about from this season but lets turn the page and discuss some other things. I will take partial blame in not creating some new threads so I will try to be a bit more active here in trying to get some discussion brewing.

Dave, its not about you.  The boards provide info we get from nowhere else.  On the down side the key board can make good people type nasty stuff they normally would keep inside.  Then you add in the one poster who posts BS rumors that he/she makes up.  The good info is still worth reading the garbage.

What a cop out. Blame the posters for the state of the program.  See ya

Or another type of copout is to hide behind the invented excuse of a "program in decline" to post completely bogus, irresponsible and downright idiotic assertions as if they are fact.

I guarantee you that guys here have heard the exact same scoop I've been posting. I'm the only 1 posting it, you should be thanking me. But I'm not here looking for your approval

Baldi said Lavins gone. Now I read your posts saying the same thing.

Our new President does not come from a big basketball program background. Worrisome. Will he consider going the Fordham-NYU route and downgrading the program?  Anyone on this board met him yet?

I'm shocked that there isn't more jubilation over this announcement. CrappyRappy had the absolute worst sense of humor imaginable. I know it was on purpose, but even purposely bad humor should have some redeeming qualities. I for one hope to never see him post again.

When things go bad, fans complain. What is so surprising about that? When things were good with the program the posts were positive.Wait....... The internet was not invented when things were good. Heck I am not even sure the computer was invented at that point. I sort of remember seeing Mullin in color but once I hit 40 the memory started to go. I think there were color TV's when SJU was good but I can't entirely be sure.

Which makes you wonder why some of our fans are acting like we are UCLA and are demanding for our coaches head because we finished one or two games below expectations.  I'm not happy either but the same repetitive posts get old.
When you're a kid from New York and you do it in New York, that lasts forever!

Other than most people are annoying and tend to complain, I think the problem is Lavin's first year was succesful and his hiring and recruiting offered hope. Coming off how Jarvis tenure ended and the whole Norm reign of terror Lavin has turned out to be one gigantic cock tease for the fan base. Thus the anger.

Yea, I have no idea what happened w Hicks, or why he even came here. It turned out to be more of a hindrance than a help. At least as far as I can see. Cooley did a great job last year, but let's chill out a bit with a coach who lost in the first round to an 11 seed in March.  Steve Lavin already did exactly that. Let's see what happens now that he doesn't have 3 terrific seniors to carry them.

I did enjoy the way Providence played, have to give him that. If we made the tourney and ran a nice offense, that is all I have ever asked for personally.

Poison Prov was the 11 seed

Providence would've barely had a winning record without cotton this year. He basically was their entire team.

And yet they managed to beat SJU in a critical game in which he shot 1 for 10 from the floor. A couple of other no names double doubled and some freshman lit us up for 25.

Not acting like we are UCLA. Just hoping our little A-10 team in Queens can someday make the tourney, like  that traditional powerhouse Providence, or that longtime major conference member Xavier.
Dont want to delude ourselves. Its not like we were ever among the top 5 winningest programs or anything like that
