We didnt lose Amir to professional baseball. He was forced to transfer because we ran out of scholarships for Sheed.

He transferred 2 years ago and was on the CS Northridge basketball roster last year and was on the bench and practiced with them . He quit basketball just recently after his great season this summer.

I'm not saying he made the wrong choice and I'm aware he is strictly playing baseball now but he left SJU with the intention of still playing basketball. To say he left SJU for professional baseball is a flat out lie. He left because we had too many players under scholarship and he was the player Lavin needed the least.

Unless you know something we don't, there is no proof that he was forced to transfer. In the end he did leave to play professional baseball, a sport he got a nice signing bonus.
