Gues I won't bother watching and will just delete.

You guys need to calm down! 11-2 at this point everyone would sign up for. Just one game. I think you guys should go back to worrying about next year, maybe will help you get some perspective.

the Big East ...is Back.   I'm a Johnnies fan since the 60's, when they lose it hurts. Today they walked into an unfriendly full house. That's just the way it was in the Johnnies hay day.  Early fouls, missed open looks etc... whatever. S.H. has a very good team.Their freshman center was to big a load for O'Beca. I think he should think about another year in college to add some weigh & offense.   Go Johnnies!!!

maybe will help you get some perspective.

Frankly, this is what several folks on here (and the other board) need to gain....  Perspective.  I'm not even sweating next season because it's not that important at this current moment to me.  There are other important things for me to have my mind on than to sweat what's gonna happen a season from now with St. John's men's basketball.  Will I eventually sweat it?  Maybe....  Maybe, not.

Sports doesn't "control" me like it use to do.  Those days have been long gone.  I still root for my team to win like I've always done in the past.  Sports is a form of entertainment, and none of us have any control what happens.

I'd still be pissed, at one point in time, from today's loss.  I was good before the buzzer sounded today.  Losing the game sucked!  Losing always suck!  But I'm gonna go on about my day, and enjoy it!

Hopefully, the rest of you enjoy your day, as well!

Happy New Year!

If we can't beat this team on the road when they don't have Whitehead we aren't going to win 3 conference road games this year
Only 1 game. Seton Hall should be ranked, that's a good team
Really? Like you said, only one game. You'll be the same person calling them "pathetic" a few weeks from now.
Hopefully not. Why so angry?

Far from being angry.

LOL  Nice try at antagonizing.  Enjoy your day!

While Obekpa did get out played somewhat, he was also hamstrung by the refs putting him in foul trouble.

More than that though, this game showed the downside to playing without a true power forward.   Obekpa should be playing alongside someone like Delgado (or K thomas..or J.Sampson).

And, we need to win the foul game.  We're not going to shoot 40% from 3, so if we're not getting to the line more than our opponent it's going to be difficult to win.

we need jordan to be good. He has to be a 30 minute player. Not saying he deserved to play more today, but if he doesn't eaen his minutes and play well we aren't that good. The bigger role Phil has the worse we are and that's not a diss on Phil. Harrison needs a partner. Phil is a great spot up shooter. We need someone to help out on offense .
Defense we tried to hard . For every block or steal we gave up 2 baskets . Setin hall played well. Still not a good loss .

Agree....  Harrison needs another steady partner.  At this juncture, Greene and Jordan aren't carrying their weight.  Jordan's an enigma.  He has all the tools to be a steady contributor, but not sure about his mental makeup.
I believe if Greene plays within himself, then he can be solid.  He shoots too much, IMO.  He also settles for too many jumpers.  He should find a way to attack the tin a bit more aggressively.

It's not a good loss at this moment.  But I'm not worried about it.  If we continue winning ball games, then today's game won't matter much.

I said the same.
Then, it was lost again when Harrison had a chance to get us back to two, and missed both technical shots.  We eventually got it to two on the next possession, but most of us figured it should've been a tied ball game at that point.

Seton Hall scored on their following possession to push it back to four points, and we never got any closer.

Good points Dink. Greene's many, many off balance jumpers are driving me to drink. :)
Regarding Jordan, I am not a shrink, but he seems in a funk, tentative one minute, forcing the next. His decision making & shot selection proficiency appear down from last year. Is not starting nor being one of main cogs on wheel so far adversely effecting him? I hope not. He gets ample time to shine & can if his head is on straight. We do need him to complement Dee in scoring column.

I like obekpa think he is very good. This game proved once again that he isn't as good as some think . If he is an NBA prospect we are not having this conversation . NBA players dominate games like this. He is not there yet

The team was due for a bad game, better now than later.  Team seemed lacking energy at times.  Biggest problem was not SJU play....Hall had a nearly perfect game, moving the ball, great D , key3 s, some which were tough looks.  Harrison was great, Branch also excellent.  Can we take up a collection for pizza and send
one  to COs room daily, man needs  20-30lbs. Dom was dominated, invisible.  Great job by Willard.

Was at the game ....

1.  Thought the refs hurt us in the first half with the quick whistles.  Changed our defensive intensity and negated Obekpa.

2.  Seton Hall played their best game of the season.  We know Gibbs can play, but Sina played the game of his life.  His 3's killed us.

3.  Teams that shoot %45 from 3 against us, where we are not forcing turnovers, are going to beat us.

4.  Beat Butler on Saturday and this is all a distant memory.

5.  Seton Hall fans are even more pessimistic than we are!!!  Sat with a bunch, and they thought we were going to win for pretty much the entire game.  And they were WAY down on Sina - admitted to eating crow because I think his play overall was the difference.  Him and Carrington totally negated Whitehead's absence.

Tough loss to the youngest team in America this year and next and without one of their best players. Need to win next 2 at home and in beating Nova prove we can beat a top echelon team. Jordan still seems to need an attitude adjustment and buy into team concept and enjoy himself out there. Dom was invisible today and if he plays his normal game who knows what happens. Even if Willard took him out of his normal game he has to be more active and affect the game.

Game was lost in last 2 min of 1st half.

Not saying that was not a bad stretch but they cut it to 2pts with 5:21 left in the game, had the momentum and then scored 2 points for the next 5:00 minutes -  they had chances and didn't get it done.
SJU got outplayed, end of story..

The game was actually lost when we let Sina somehow get an offensive rebound off a FT which turned into a 3 at the shot clock buzzer for Gibbs

Clearly outplayed. Kudos to the toughness & execution of the Hall today. Unlike most of our opponents to date, they valued the ball & got/hit open threes. Impressed!

i think Sina had back to back offensive boards off missed FT's.

Yep, the Branch, Greene, Jordan, Balamou, Harrison lineup was lost out there on defense. They collapsed whenever the ball went inside and left guys wide open and when they happened to miss those wide open shots Hall got the rebounds. Not Lavin's best coaching decision, should've thrown JDR, Amar or Christian in there  instead of Balamou.
