agreed, no way we get here without his play over this last 10 or so games.  I don't think there was another pg available to us at that time that would be the sort of playmaker rysheed is.  among other things, his ability to hit the 3 and get to the rim gives me some hope we can win this sdsu game

You think we would have finished in the exact same position without Rysheed Jordan?   We must be pretty damn good if we can afford to lose a guy who averages 14, 4, and 3 and do no worse.

Why do you keep bringing up Villanova?  Whether or not Villanova was smart to not take him has no bearing on whether it was smart for us to take him.  We are in totally different positions.

Instead of trying to unrealistically make a play for Shaka Smart why don't we try to find the next Shaka Smart? That guy is probably a head coach at a smaller school or an assistant coach at a larger school right now just waiting for the chance. Who is it remains to be seen, but we can't land that guy if we keep Lavin. It's either accept Lavin's mediocrity or take a risk to find the next big thing. Sure that guy might land on his face but he also might actually run a successful, consistent and drama free program

Let's give Norm another shot.  I'm sure he's learned a lot in the last 5 years.

Been reading the thread off and on today, most amusing.  You people are going crazy..  Yeah, if it is smoking weed or something else it is certainly COs fault.  However, Lavin as a manager is a joke.  One of the main roles of any manager is knowing and controlling his people.....Lavin is a failure at this, constant drama and poor behavior by the team both on and off the court.  As a manager you have to hire good people to do the job....not filling jobs, having  a recruiting void, is inexcusable.  I commend SJU for apparently running a clean program   but sometimes one may have to bend a few small rules.....Lavin does not understand this.  I rather see some minor rulebreaking than an abysmal program.  The circus needs a new ringmaster, one with some imagination who can handle young people.  To quote the great Michael Ray Richardson, "the ship be sinking" and the captain can not find the life preserver.
