If it is after the 3rd conference game, just redshirt the damn kid.  And he's bothered by a nagging injury.  It should really be a no-brainer by that point.

He should be able to do what he wants. If he wants to play, let him play. If he wants to sit for a year, let him sit.

At what point does the possibility of him playing a fifth season in a meaningful year and restoring some balance to an obscenely unbalanced roster trump playing in a lost season?  14 games?  12 games? 9 games? We have the worst roster balance in the entire country if he plays this year.  We could have only ONE natural junior OR senior in 5 years (Ponds).

Whoever replaces Mvouika, Johnson, and Balamou will be seniors along with Ponds.   Whoever replaces Christian Jones will be a junior.
Not to mention in this era of transfers, someone will probably leave.

Exactly, or redshirt.  And our incoming recruits next year or the year after could include JUCOs, transfers or 5th year seniors

What is this continuing BS about being under the impression. Either the NCAA told you something or they didn't.

Amateurs. Only amateurs make empty threats. There should have been a lawsuit filed and a PR firm hired the second he was declared ineligible.

+1. Either do it or keep your mouth shut. What do you hope to accomplish by empty threats. Whatever small chance we had of getting a favorable ruling just went out the window.

They've been taking about this for months now.

Early word out of Queens this spring continues to be about Marcus LoVett. Think a lefty Marcus Hatten. Effortless scorer. Shifty PG. #sjubb

This... would be dank.

Well, high on everyone he talks about. But he doesn't talk about anyone. I think hell be the best player on the team from day one and I thought the same would have been the case last year. Such an important piece.

Lovett with his ball handling and slashing should make everyone better. Ton of young talent on this team, excited for this season to come.

He might be on to something though. I talked to a current TV analyst who has done several St Johns games this past year and he told me he's seen Lovett practice and he's really good. The comment came without me bringing him up, we were just talking about how much improved we would be.

Practice is one thing...especially when you're a caged pitbull of sorts but, I've got real high hopes for him.

Thing with Lovett is that not only is he fast with a good handle and passing, but he has to be guarded.  Kid can shoot it from around the court as well.  Reminded me a bit of Showtime Hill, but with more PG skills.  We will see, but I think he will be really good for us.  We lost a ton of games this year simply because we didn't have a real PG out there.

If he's a lefty Marcus Hatten the team will probably be a contender for a tournament bid.
Lofty expectations for any player no matter what their Rivals or Scout ranking is.

Where have you seen him play? How long ago?

Is Mussini guarding him in practice?
