Positives-  Not a great cuse team.
                   only play 6 guys
                   Will not pressure us
                   Should be a good crowed

Negatives - Cuse is better than us
                     60/40 cuse fans? Worse?
*wipes ketchup from his eyes* - I guess Heinz sight isn’t 20/20.

How we can beat them:

1. Foul the big men like crazy. They can't hit free throws.
2. We know they play zone, but we need to come after them defensively, and make them give the ball up. Sadly, that is also how to destroy us.
3. Pray

Don't be so sure Cuse won't pressure us.  Boeheim has pressured us under similar circumstances in the past, when we had better teams, like in 90' when we started three Frosh.  He always has a full court press in his pocket, plus he usually has a zone "extension' in his pocket.  They'll try it out on us, I'm pretty sure of it.  Especially if we do well against their standard 2-3.  And don't think just because he is not allowed to have any contact with the program during his suspension, he won't.  If you believe that I've got some swampland to sell you.

Decided to keep my tickets for this game at the beginning of the season. Hope all you other season ticket holders did the same or sold to Johnnies fans. Gonna hate sitting next to all Orange in NYC.

Agree with #3 as the only way;  Maybe Cardinal Dolan can do the invocation prior to start and follow it up with Mass at halftime.  Let's go Catholics!!!!

Sell ur tickets. This will be the worst game of the year. It's going to be at least 70-30 cuse fans. This will not be fun.

It will be the worst game of the year until the conference starts. Butler, Nova and Xavier are all just as good as SU if not better. But even if they trounce us, which we are pretty sure they will, we shouldn't get in the habit of selling tickets to people who are going to hoot and holler for the other team. That just tips the numbers further in their favor.

Mussini will need to play the wing vs the 2-3.  ANy suggestions who could play the point?  Im thinking mouvika but very nervous about it  need Lovett badly for this one.

Mvouika, Mussini and Durand are going to have to be hitting there shots from 3. You need to hit 3's against this zone to have a chance. Would imagine Jones will be at the top of the key in the middle of the zone, see if he can make a few plays. If we play like last night none of this will matter so need to much much stronger and everyone on the team and staff knows that. It will be nice for the recruits to see a packed house even if it is 60-40 Cuse.

Our guys will be happy to see a zone (long time since we could say that).  They need to watch out for the traps, but they should get some looks.  Cuse does a good job of extending the zone to primary shooters, so Johnson and M'Vouika need to hit shots.  Durand will have the corner three all-night...especially when he's on Mussini's side.

There isn't anyone else who can play the point. It's Mussini and M'vouika. That's it.

No depth. They will extend as you mentioned but I would be really surprised if they pressed except for end of game situation, which god I hope happens.

Cuse sometimes employs traps in half court effectively. Most teams, who beat them, do it off offensive boards & of course hitting some threes. It always is helpful having a guy with good hands & ample shooting ability flashing to foul line to dump down to a big down low, hit a jumper or crisply pass to open wings. Not sure who that is on this squad.

Start Yakwe next to Sima. Jones will be ineffective against their length.  Hopefully we hit open threes to keep it close.

And Yakwe is solid on offensive board. Like that!

We need a good start....this young squad can't fall behind early in this game
Yakwe and Sima need to stay out of foul trouble
We need to win the rebound margin
And we need 10+ 3 pointers
