St. John's will play pickup against Iona on Sundays this summer, sources told @CBSSports. Red Storm will play Hofstra during week. #SJUBB

Somehow I don't think this will satisfy Baldi

It's a start.

But if we can't be in attendance, doesn't really matter

Iona has open spots on their schedule. We should drop binghamton and pick up a real d-1 opponent to better our rpi.

College BB is very structured, would be fun to see what some of ours guys can do offensively when they have some artistic freedom. Remember watching some of our guys play pick up after the season in Alumni Hall in the 70's after class and some of the players displayed range far beyond what shots they were allowed to take. But you may be right the idea of going to watch may sound better than actually going, although this summer we are having numerous house guests staying for lengthy periods of time and even a hot sweaty gym may seem like paradise as a get away.  :)

Artistic freedom via pickup basketball might be scary for our cast of characters !!!!!

Sima attempting 3's from NBA range,  Mussini trying to dunk..... oh boy !!!!!

If RPI is being scrutinized in March, every reasonable fan will be thrilled. Wins and confidence are more important this season.

Facing a team that gets after it like Mich St, with their physicality, will be a good early season experience for our guys.

Facing MSU instead of Iona should help our RPI just a little bit more don't you think.

Great news, this will make the team that much better/poised come the BE season as these games provide valuable experience to a very inexperienced roster. This will be a trip well spent regardless of the outcome. A upgrade of last year's Maui trip IMO, we want results. If we pull off a upset, a homerun. VCU and Baylor both lost a ton of talent to graduation this Spring.

Can anyone say losers bracket? It is good though to be playing great teams, will expose weaknesses early allowing us to concentrate on improving in areas we need to. Instead of a tournament mentality we need to view these as 3 individual games and try to win as many as possible. Fifth and second place both finish 2-1 and two wins against good teams is not too shabby.

Bring on anyone and everyone, it's time to get this train moving. Izzo doesn't have a gameplan/blueprint for what 8-9 of our players?

Yes. Hopefully the guys are ready to play the big boys after the tough matchups with Longwood and Binghamton
