Friars have a bunch of injuries.

It would be great to get a win to start conference play.

Plus, if we don't get a win here, then we're probably staring at an 0-3 start in Big East play.  If that happens, it will be an uphill climb the rest of the way.

Don't want to call it a must win, but beating Providence twice would be really big boost and is very doable.

It's pretty much as close as it gets to a must win. If you lose against Providence at home, then you're faced with Creighton and Seton Hall on the road in the next two, and you'd have to win at lease one of those. Starting 0-3 in the Big East could be disastrous.

Seton hall and creighton have nice teams but I wouldn’t chuck those up as loses just yet. Obviously providence game is huge but so is every conference game. Nothing is any easy win

Providence is probably a middle of the pack BE team as we probably are also. We are at home and if we are as good as many of you think we are we damn well better win this game. Don't want to have to start chasing too many road wins, need to defend home court especially against a fellow mid pack team we may end up fighting for a tourney invite.

I thought Prov was the third best team in the league coming into this year.  Deep, experienced, well coached.  Haven't played as well and I know Holt is still out.  What is Cartwright's status?

I know this sport mostly makes no sense but if we can't beat this Providence team which has been a complete mess over the past month at home then we are not beating SHU or Creighton on the road less than a week later

Cartwright is playing but appears to be a bit hobbled.  I'd bet he is ready to roll against us next week.

3-3 in the next 6 games doable, 4-2 not out of the question.

Agree to disagree. Teams have bad games and against bad teams and great games against good teams. The transitive property of well we lost to this team so we have to also lose to this team definitely doesn’t apply. Seton Hall and Creighton have nice teams but i don’t think they have much more talent if any at all then us if we have Marcus back.

I will be at the game and the way these kids have started the season. There’s no reason we shouldn’t have a sold out and very loud crowd. The staff and players deserve the support I hope the atmosphere is crazy Thursday.

I've heard that Carnesecca is already sold out, it's going to be a crazy atmosphere with everyone in vacation mode. I don't expect the crowd to let the Friars leave victorious.

The Friars #54 RPI would be our biggest win to date, we need this one bad.

They're all must wins from here on out if we want to assure ourselves a number one seed in the East come March. The regional final's in Boston, that would aid our FF chances immensely.

Of course you know they will play Thursday.

@KevinMcNamara33
Ed Cooley will welcome players back from XMas break today, run Kyron Cartwright & Alpha Diallo a bit and see how their wheels look; `The consistency and continuity of the group has been hampered,' due to injuries #pcbb

Anyone know of a way for out of towners to watch the game?

It's on one of the Fox sports channels.  If you don't get it as part of your current cable package, then sign up for the day and cancel it after the game.

You can also listen to the 570 AM radio broadcast if you can aces the Tune In App
