Can I get in on this? I’d guess +19

Doesn't look like it's gonna happen. My official guess would be Duke -18.

Okay. My official guess is -11.5. If I'm putting money (knowing where you stand) on it then -15.

Bettin the Duke game unless its under 6, freshmen defense and they will be looking forward to the draft.  Possible win.

I haven't looked at a basketball point spread in years. I just knew 20 was completely ridiculous. I was surprised that Texas Tech was 10 point dogs to Duke (taking your word for it). I would have assumed it was 6.5 or 7.5. So I am adjusting up. I only bet on football.

I think we will win.

If the game was tomorrow the line would be at least Duke -18. Might even be higher. A lot can change in 4 weeks but it likely won’t change that much.

Maybe you should know what you’re talking about before implying I’m an idiot.

I don't wish to intrude. But what's the minimum number of points you learned gentlemen would take on SJU wagering real money if dook was giving them? I'd bet my cock and balls (admittedly a small wager) on SJU +18, because I suspect Schrewshrenski will not run the score up on Mullin. I think 10-ish is a reasonable spread.

I have no idea what the outcome of the game will be. Marillac would take SJU at pickem because he thinks they will win the game outright which is fine. I don’t think we will win the game outright but hope we are at least within striking distance with 5 mins left in the game.

All I’m saying is if the game was being played now the line would be around Duke -18. That’s not really a guess either. That’s what it would be

A 20 point spread is insane. We are only given that kind of respect against NEC teams. You think an 11-0 St. John's team (that beat Duke last year!) would warrant the same lack of respect to Duke that a middling NEC team does to us? Now way. 20 is crazy!!!!! 12-15 ok. But you can manhandle a team and win by less than 20 because of garbage time. 15 to 20 is not a small difference in college. It often means the difference between walkons and the bottom of the bench playing or not.

It really doesn't matter what you think is insane and what isn't because this isn't really a matter of opinion. You can think that's a bad spread all you want but that's what it would be and I'm pretty sure the guys making those lines are a lot smarter than a guy that said the line would be 8.5

I dont think it's all helter
Roll the ball out on the floor and let 5 guys run up and down, helter skelter.

As long as it works in BE play I'll be fine with it. We shall see.
I dont think it's all helter skelter. Better passing team then usual and drive and corner pass often results good shot for three. Asist totals might speak well for some structure for the offence.

Yeah I agree the passing and ball movement is looking better than in the past 3 years. Let's hope they keep it up when Big East play begins.

A factor to consider in our OOC schedule: this schedule was put together long before anyone knew that Heron and Figueroa would be on the team.  Consider what we'd look like without them so far and then decide if the schedule was appropriate for the team we had at the time that it was locked in.

IMO, even with the schedule we have, we would not be looking at anything like a 12 - 0 start without the addition of Heron and Figueroa and there's be far less complaining that we would have booked a schedule worthy of a top 25 team.  We were 4 and 14 in the BE last year.

+100

Are you saying that's what the line would be if they played now, what it will be when we play them or both?

My current opinion. We could lose the game by 19 but don’t think Oddsmakers would have it anywhere near 19 at present.
