Most quality coaches we could've hired would have turned the program around in much quicker fashion
I doubt it. Though let's say for argument sake you're right for once. How much quicker? Ncaa tournament bid third season?
As Bill Parcells said, you are what your record says you are.
He came into a complete rebuild. Not the kind that some of the Mullin haters have falsely claimed this season is. But a real one. No coach could have done anything positive record wise in season 1 and 2. Season 3 was disappointing in large part to the Lovett defection and season 4 was terrific. The mess is in your pants.
Now look at Anderson's record.
Why? Only an idiot would attempt to compare Mullin's coaching tenure at St. John's to Anderson's coaching tenure at St. John's before game 1. That's the relevant topic at hand, no?
You need to deal with the fact that your man crush Mullin is gone.
I know he's gone. I can read.
He did not succeed here as HC.
He had a season as successful as any coach has had here in a year starting this millennium.
He inherited the worst St. John's team ever in the history of the program and built it to that then the trigger was pulled too early. Same as it ever was. I would call it a success!
Let it go man. You gotta stop living in the past. It's a new era in SJU hoops. Embrace it and you'll be much happier.
When you write truth about our hero I keep quiet. When lies and untruths are spread - I call them out. I welcome the Razorback with open arms and wish him a long and fruitful stay in Queens. I'll be there with bells and whistles supporting the team full out as I always do. I'm looking forward to the anticipated drop in ticket prices.
The king is dead, long live Nolan Richardson disciples!
