I'll probably get criticized for this, but the score wasnt much of an indication of the game. Brown was just chucking up 3 after 3, I'm talking about some serious prayers, and most of the prayers were answered...theres just not really a defense for that. And as was stated, this could have been the worst officiated game I've ever seen in my entire life. We took a shot with 1-2 seconds left on the shot clock, the ball CLEARLY hit the rim and we rebounded the ball, but the refs ruled it was an airball and a shot clock violation. They even huddled together after the play and still decided it was a shot clock violation. When a game is called this closely, it just takes you off your game. You cant play nearly as aggressively as you normally would. Brown hit their 3s and their free throws and that's what made the game close, but if the refs weren't calling it so tightly (and it wasn't being called both ways either) it wouldn't have been NEARLY as close as it was
I agree with you, their prayers were being answered tonight. I think we need a new priest on the bench. Screw getting rid of Norm, trade Father Maher to the Knicks for a draft choice. He’s just not communicating with The Big Guy during our games.
Special note to Carmine: the way Dwight Buckets started off, I thought he was going to pass AP in this game. I was dreaming of 9-10 from Downtown! I still stand by my statement, he will hold the season record for threes this season if he stays healthy.
The only downside to DJ’s flush late in the game is that Wally Rut. wasn’t standing under the basket so that the ball could bounce off his head. This crew outdid themselves, probably one of the worst officiated games in history. They would do a disservice to the local CYO teams.
I’m not a huge Malik II fan, but with all due respect, their little PG is fast as hell and can move. Stith slowed him down a bit, and Hardy too, but the kid can move.
I’d put him up against your choice of PG in the BE and he will have his way with them.
Bottom line is it’s a win. Let’s learn from it and go in Philly ready to play!
