You take out Bobby Knight and Gary Williams in March it's coaching. If all of those guys were so good they'd be playing in the NBA.
Really. So then if Jarhead is such a great coach, how come he's 14 and 15 in the mighty Sunbelt Conference? How come he was 6 and 26 last year? Too bad Bobby Knight's not at Middle Tennessee State, Jarvis could out smart him again.
Norm Roberts keeps saying that the program is better off now than it was when he got here.
The funny thing is Mike Jarvis said the same thing when Harrington fired him on Christmas Eve.
In the BE, we've coaches go from success at smaller schools like Bobby Gonzalez, and then fail miserably once given a chance at a high major school.
Jarvis might be struggling now, but when given the chance to coach in the one of the big 6 conferences, he was a winner.
You're to tell me that you weren't impressed when he went down to North Carolina, and beat Duke in Cameron? How many non-ACC teams have done that since? His BE resume wasn't perfect, but it was the closest thing we had to the Louie days since he retired.
SJU likes to blame Jarvis for the state of the program. He's not innocent, but it was the way they handled his firing, and the players they expelled thaty brought on our current situation. It's nice to have a scape goat, but since this "horrible coach" has been fired, we've made zero post season tournaments. Argue all you want, but that's a fact.
