Lol you post evryones tweets but mine. Greg Anthony has no idea what he is talking about. Everything he is reporting is hearsay. I'm stuck in ikea I'll post more later

Greg Anthony is actually very, very in touch.  I have never followed his tweets, but I know that guy is connected.

He may be but not here. This was a real botch job. He knows zilch about the situation. I know this for a fact.

I think it's time to get your apology ready for Greg Anthony, Dave.  Greg Anthony is not some schlep that has no clue.  He is very close to more people in this scenario than you realize.  In fact, I'm not sure if there is anyone that goes full circle with all the parties involved more than him.

Another example of poor reporting and journalism....

Quote
CBS erroneously reported during its NCAA Tournament coverage that a deal was done, but as of 10 p.m., there had been no official contact between St. John’s and Lavin. That contact was expected to take place within 24 hours and if both sides remain interested, then they’ll move to contract negotiations.

CBS didn't report anything of the sorts. Greg Anthony on his own independent twitter account reported this. Just because he is an employee of CBS does not mean CBS reported anything. Didn't Lenn check up on this?

there was a back and forth with Goodman on twitter... ;D
Anthony: "Lavin to STJ"
Goodman: "Who is reporting this?"
Anthony: "I am"

"But first the dream has to be realized. Lavin and Monasch have yet to meet. Lavin has yet to see the Red Storm's facilities and contract parameters are on the distant horizon. "

It doesn't appear to be imminent based on Robbins latest update.

Monasch and Lavin have yet to meet? Wasn't it confirmed that they were meeting today? I mean I guess they technically could've not met yet today, but the way he makes it sound is like there has been little contact between the two. Just sounds like yet more BS from Lenny the Clown.

The guy was fired because he had a losing season.

The "reason" Lavin has been out of coaching for a while now is likely his 4-month work "year" at ESPN. As an announcer, you never lose a game or a recruit, and have 8 months off to fool around while college coaches are on the road, sitting in stuffy gyms, putting their entire futures in the hands of flaky teenagers. Which is why Lav would be crazy to take this or any coaching job.

Plus the guy's wife is an actress, so his choices of cities to live in is limited, you know, like LA and NY?

Your program would win more with him than you have since the Carnesecca days. It would be inconsistent, but you'd go to the Tourney almost every year once Lavin got settled, and he'd bring in the top recruits.

We may have spoke about this already but why was this guy fired from UCLA after a very good run there and why has he not taken a job since then. On the surface this looks like a good hire because of how he did at UCLA but hes been out of coaching for a while now and its obviously for a reason.
