the more i read his posts the more obvious it became that either one of three things is happening here...1) carmine is baldi, 2) carmine is a huge baldi fan, 3) carmine is related to baldi....hes instigating lol...i cant wait till him and baldi actually have an argument...might end up being the most epicly ridiculous thread in all internet history

SJD, sadly you are wrong.  CA doesn't do this on a regular basis.  He has always loved AP unconditionally as if he was his own son.  He actually believes his drivel.

My son shoots his nerf baskeball in the same style as Avery Patterson. My wife thinks it is adorable.I explained to her that since he is not yet 9 months old and shoots from a sitting position he gets a pass, FOR NOW. If he is still shooting an Avery Patterson push shot once he able to consistently stand up w/o the help of the coffee table then I am going to have to start doling out punishments. No son of mine is going to shoot that ugly style!

My favorite part of this whole tit a tat was when the Doctor called me a "pseudo intellectual".

That's like Kelly Tripuca calling Kiki Vandeweghe a chucker.  Priceless!

you realize 72 3's isnt even that good

And you realize that 72 3's isnt even that bad.  In fact, it's more 3's than any other player has made in a single season in the entire history of our beloved franchise.

And Anthony Wilson of LSU can sleep with the pride of knowing he is the best 3 point shooter ever to wear a tigers uniform...i vaguely remember this guy, Pete something or other...he played for LSU once and was pretty good, but there was no 3 point line then so Wilson is obviously the champ of that beloved franchise

In my minds eye I recall Pistol using his other worldly dribel-drive-penetration as much or more so than his long range bomb, although I know that was in his arsenal as well.  I'm not familiar with this AW guy but perhaps he would have held the record anyway?

Was this guy as great as Avery "3 point record holder" Patterson?

Pete Maravich: another subject about which Carmine knows #$%^ all.

PM displays his otherworldly range at about the 20 second mark:

Top 10 NCAA Shooters - Pistol Pete Maravich #2

Here's a lesson for all you kids out there. If when arguing someone says "if I recall correctly" or "the way I remember it" or as here, "in my mind's eye," they're lying.

"Maravich was a notorious long-range bomber during his career, but until now he had never played in a league, college or pro, that used the three-point shot. All of his many points had come on two-pointers, even when launched from a great distance. In 1979-1980, the NBA finally adopted the three-point shot. In his final season-with his skills rusty, his knees creaky, and his minutes limited-Pistol Pete Maravich finally got a chance to shoot three-pointers. He went 10-for-15."

http://hoopedia.nba.com/index.php?title=Pete_Maravich

"[Pete's] attitude about his sport was unorthodox for the time, but still brought in crowds by the thousands to watch him score 40 points a game and make shots from 30 feet out, ten years before the three-point line was created. In fact, Maravich actually often preferred trying the downtown shot over something a little closer.

Though Maravich played before freshmen were eligible for the varsity and before the three-point shot was established, he loved gunning from long range.

carmine, you're either stupid or trying to get a rise outta people from this thread...either way, there are better subjects on this board to post on...i dont need to waste time trying to prove to you that a juco transfer who shot 33% from 3, in one year at st johns, is not the best 3 point shooter that the school ever had, nor that some tool from lsu is or is not a better shooter than one of the best shooters at any level at any time in the college or pro games history...enjoy the rest of your delusions, bye sir

Excellent video Doc.  Thanks for sharing.  It showed about 2 3's from 25 shots I guesstimate.

"I recall Pistol using his other worldly dribel-drive-penetration as much or more so than his long range bomb"  Where is the falsehood in this quote?  "As much or more so".  You think it's a stretch that 50% of his shots weren't 3's?

Doc, it's a long weekend so I'll do you a big favor since I like you so much and I know you'll have a lot of free time on your hands:

"Sasquatch exists and is having a baby with Brittney Spears"

"Ben and Jerrys - better than Haagan Daas"

"Nasa never landed on the moon - all done in a holiday studio"

"Clarance Clemmons is far superior at playing the sax with a crook in it's neck than Sonny Rollins"

"The shot that killed Kennedy came from the grassy knoll"

"The Tooth Fairy, Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny are real and living a love triangle fantasy in Hoboken NJ."

"There are weapons of mass destruction in Iraq"

Now go fetch Rover.

Carmine, Forget Pistol Pete.  Better ST JOHN'S long range shooter, Chris Mullin or Avery "I'm gonna need me a damn good restraining order against carmine" Patterson?

Hardy is going to break the record this year anyway, so at least we won't have to deal with this Avery crap anymore.

Answer:  My favorite basketball player of all time, Chris Mullin, was the better long range shooter. Of course Avery "3 point record holder" Patterson was a far superior 3 point shooter than Chris at SJU.

That's what I was told about this past season.  An amazing record like Avery's will live in infamy forever.

I'm pretty confident that if Hardy starts and our bonehead players listen to Dunlap and help free him up for shots, the record will be his.

Aside from that, I now know you must be simply trying to mess with people. That "amazing record" is on par with a baseball team's single-season home run record being 35. With the guys Lavin will bring in, that record will be history shortly.
