Iona picked up a commitment from 2012 PF Norvel Pelle of California, according to @JonRothstein.

what has he done in the last 12 months to qualify?  Going there and being eligble are two different things.

They may use the Canadian exemption they used to bring in hockey players in the 1960's

If he qualifies, I will attend a few games. Manhattan matchups should be fun. I will get heat for saying this, but wish we were playing Iona, would be a fun game. I am aware of all the "what's the gain" arguments, but just for good hoops, why not! Moot point however!

I don't care what Norvel's handler or brother is telling people... he's not a sf.   The kid has ridiculous shot blocking and rebounding abilities... that's what made him a prized recruit.    I've never heard anybody comment on his ball handling or shooting till he started making videos of himself in an empty gym.   

It looked like Zags and Nieves were going back and forth a little on twitter. Apparently the handler is claiming to Zags that he and Pelle have the same mother, but Nieves is telling Zags that it was crap and Zags doesn't like to be told he's wrong.

He is a defensive player who can run the floor. I actually think he is awkward on the offensive end except for running the break.

I would be stunned if he actually made it to campus. If so, good pickup for Iona.

Forgot what it was called back in the day but it was a crap hole.  He bought it and fixed it up nice.  His name is Mike.  I went to HS with him.  Just say you went to Blind Brook HS and he will probably give you a deal haha
