Ricardo Gathers - PF - Riverside Academy - Reserve, LA - BAYLOR

Pretty poor defense and hustle by Gathers in this video.  Thomas looks like an animal...wow.  His lack of hustle was kind of shocking considering the writeups and his rebounding stats.  It's just one game, though.  In spite of the drive by by Thomas on him at the end, Gathers' perimeter d looks like it could be pretty decent for his size with some practice.  His help D really needs to improve, but you can say that about almost all high school kids.

Interesting that Gathers hasn't participated at any camps yet. I would have assumed he would be at the Lebron James camp.

He was in Indy at Adidas.  He will be at the Peach Jam.

Unlikely he gets in this year but barring something unforseen he will be Johnny.

Between you and Dave....  If he's not on board for 2011 which is understandable, why the delay for 2012?

Ricardo not playing his hand either about when he wants to commit.  Last interview I think he said he'd decided in/after the summer.  We'll have to wait and see.  Would love to get that commitment though.

I know, but he seemed to be avoiding the question.  He said maybe fall, if not then spring.  He gives a different answer every time.  I don't think he wants to answer it just yet.

He's a freaking bull!  He's definitely a 4, if you ask me.  Gathers also sent Justin Anderson's shot back into his mug a time or two.

Randle is definitely a heckuva player.  He's somewhat forcing the action, as he's not playing with a whole lot.  He's a big kid who can do some of everything and does it at a pretty high-level.

He has been shooting better from the FT at the Peach Jam, but he was atrocious from behind the line, this morning.  By the way, he seemed to have suffered a mild concussion, as he ran into Isaac Hamilton (a kid we were once recruiting) of the Oakland Soldiers.  Hamilton looked like he broke his pinky finger on the play, as well.  His finger resembled someone with rheumatoid arthritis.
