I hear that Waco Texas is beautiful... Compares favorably to NYC.    :2funny:

Waco, Tx--home of Ted Nugent, David Koresh and the Branch Dividians, and Baylor.  Who wouldn't want to go there??

Joke all you like but clearly Baylor has some advantages.  When have we ever signed a top 10 recruit in three straight classes?
And it's not like Ricardo is a city guy from the Northeast.    Baylor and UF worry me.

2013 St. John's will.

UF is not a concern just as Duke wasn't.

Kentucky won't get involved because they are on bigger fish.

Baylor is legit concern as they are with Sampson.

St. John's has Steve Lavin.

Would you agree the final 3 for Sampson are STJ, BAY and FLA?

Baylor is a legit concern for sure. On the other hand, they do have a pretty solid front court already and what can they offer Gathers from the start? Gathers and his family really enjoyed NYC, he came to the city at least 4-5 times since we started recruiting him. I think Lavin closes the deal for the second time. Funny he was watching the St Johns vs. Duke game while ON the official visit to Baylor.

Clearly UK prefers Bennett to Gathers.

St. John's or Baylor. Florida has no chance.

My fave.

Was McCullough right choz?

No

So who is  it?

Jermaine Lawrence

Really? dont even see him on most top 100 lists

Evaluators don't put players on lists that they don't see. Neither Evan Daniels or Brian Snow from Scout have seen Lawerence. I'm almost certain Eric Bossi from Rivals hasn't seen him nor has Dave Telep of ESPN. John Stovall from ESPN saw Lawrence at Hoop Group New York Top 100 this past spring.

Going off the Scout list I'd put Lawrence right there with Troy Williams, BeeJay Anya, Isaiah Hicks, and Jordan Mickey. All players I've seen multiple times. While Hicks and Anya are more inside while Troy Williams and Jordan Mickey are more perimeter oriented Jermaine Lawrence is a hybrid guy. I'd say he is more of a 4/3 while I'd say Harkless is a 3/4 if that makes sense. He'll be right in the mix of top 20 player.

Any chance this Sparta NJ thing is temporary and he goes back to Dozo or maybe a NEPSAC school

Really appreciate the info Dave. Hopefully Lawrence will explode up the rankings after he verbals to STJ :)

Is he a guacho?

He played for some pretty small AAU team I think but was talking about running bigger this year.  Thought I heard New Heights but could be wrong.

I know Providence has been following Sampson around how much of a threat do you they are to us? Would be painful to lose him to another big east team

I wouldn't worry about Providence, I am fearful that Florida could be a player or Baylor could make a play for him if they don't land Gathers. Funny how STJ, Baylor, and Florida all recruiting the same duo.

Sidiki johnson committed to providence today. I don't know how similar their games are but they are both PFs so even if Providence was a blip on his screen he probably won't be considering them anymore.
