im talking about your posts in general, take some time and look over your posts from the past.  maybe that will make you think a little longer before you post.

Youre right. I do post some assinine stuff. Sometines the SJU boards need that to keep moving during dull times. Stir the pot and get some participation, especially when bored at work. I think everyone would agree.

But as for the previous Lavin posts, thats all true. I posted what I heard from people alot closer to the program than most of us. Actually, if you think about, some posters whoa re usually in the know, haven refuted my posts. Speaks volumes imo

Everyone, apparently, except the whole bunch of posters who specifically cited your annoying posts as a major cause of board suckitude.

I'll put it this way, we should get used to the call ins

I thought you said he was coaching the providence game baldi

I jumped the gun. He's back in NY, but he won't be coaching this year

I thought your source said he was returning to LA with his lovely wife never to return. Now you say your source says he won't be coaching this year. I think you may have lost some credibility.

I never called you an a-hole or referenced the "scoop" you posted. You said everyone would agree with your theory about posting dumb stuff because you're bored at work and you thought the board needed to "keep moving"; I simply reminded you that probably a dozen people in just the last two weeks have strongly disagreed with that theory and told you how annoying it was. This is the only board I've ever been on where a moderator admitted "stirring the pot" by posting stuff they knew to be asinine. Personally, I dont need my pot stirred, thanks.  I just like to come here and read about and have reasonable debates about SJU hoops.

Maybe if you hadnt said so much silly stuff in the past, people might be more willing to give your alleged scoop some credibility.

Well I hope your wrong, but even a broken clock is right twice a day. If Lavin didn't already try to come back on the sidelines, or wasn't currently going on recruiting trips, then I would think him not returning this year wouldn't be far fetch. Since he has/is, then I think its more likely that we see him on the sidelines before the end of the season, right in time for the spring signing period.

Whoa!  I lay off the boards for the holidays and I come back to see Baldi has a source saying Lavin  won't coach this year?   What the f&$*!

I really hope you're wrong about this.   I know he's out recruiting, but who's going to believe a coach that doesn't return to his program for an entire season after coaching two games in November?   Not to mention, this would validate what every other coach has been telling our recruits - "Lavin's health is worse than they're telling you; just watch, he won't be back".   A few weeks ago we all thought it indefensible that coaches were whispering that to Gathers.... now it turns out it might be true?

When oh when will we start getting GOOD news again?    It's like this program is incapable of any level of consistency.. either we're knocking off top 10 teams with regularity or we can't field enough guys to practice.

This "year" ends in 4 1/2 days.  Baldi is obviously  a pox on the program...not unlike his namesake and kevin fitzpatrick who were  the  'jewels      ' of our recruiting class in '85 coming off our final 4 season.

WOW, who woke you up? If I recall correctly it was 6'4 Rob James who joined Baldi in the recruiting class after the final 4 year.

You missed the sarcasm.

And yes people strongly disagreed with my opinion. Problem is, is that it wasnt my opinion. I posted what was told to me. So are they annoyed at the info in the post?

When one of Baldi's "rumors" turns out to be true then I'll be concerned.

Not sure what they said on TV, or what anyone else has posted; but I was stuck in traffic for most of the first half, and Minko said Lavin was at the shoot around earlier today, gave the pregame pep talk, and would be watching the game from somewhere in the building.

I can't verify if any of that is true, but that's what the Mink-man was saying.

They showed him sitting down with the team huddled around him and coaching them. I think it was at 3:30

Not too many places in that building to be visible if he watched it from inside.

If Marco Baldi is saying Steve Lavin won't be back this year, then that means he's actually coached every game this season.  Don't buy into it.  If he's right...well, yeah, that blows.

Lav has prostate cancer surgery......not a heart transplant! This talk of him not returning is just plain negative spam. Few coached that have had it have not returned within 12 weeks.  Jim Calhoun missed only 5 games. Jim Boeheim missed 3 games.
