LIU is located a stone's throw from the new Barclay's Arena. I'm sure he would enjoy a major college program playing in his backyard.Spike is a season ticked holder at LIU and was present when their seeding for the NCAA tournament was announced. And it is official LIU will play some games at Barclay. I think we dodge one with them not bring in a big name to coach I saw a perfect storm forming. If you added let's say Orlando Antigua to Barclay, Jay-z , Spike Lee , one stop away from Manhattan. Yikes!

Problem is you're not going to get 15,000 people going to see LIU vs St Francis, or Wagner. It is a sleeping giant situation though.

Where would LIU rank on the local school pecking order?

Where would LIU rank on the local school pecking order?I was referring to the Barclay Center as the sleeping giant, the rabid fans who would embrace a local team in Brooklyn. It could be the start of something big for the right team. Don't think LIU can get their though. Too far to climb. If there was an A-10 calibre team in Brooklyn, they'd blow the roof off.
I got an email today from Ticketmaster offering a pre-sale for the 2013 A-10 Tournament which is being held at the Barclay's CenterMaybe I'm late to the party, but I didn't know the A-10 had moved their tourny there. That's a nice move for them.

This Brooklyn thing should be interesting. The Knicks are on upswing. If Isiah was coach I'd be more confident in what the Nets could take from Brooklyn. A lot of factors. Will be interesting to see what their logo is. I heard it would be very plain, generic, and black and white, focusing on BROOKLYN as opposed to some catching logo.
Still a lotta bad feelins in Bklyn over the land grab and rightful so. Dont think the Nets gonna be sellin out anytime soon.

The ideal of DH joining DWill doesn't seem to be happening, and the Knicks being rejuvenated will make it more difficult. I understand they will be The Brooklyn Nets, emphasis on BROOKLYN. Got to have a classic Brooklyn symbol like the Bridge as a logo a la Golden State.Too bad the local college and pro situations are not ripe to cash in on that.

When Fran was at Manhattan, he had big time ambition to coach at a program with a big campus atmosphere. He never fully embraced SJU as equating to that desire. That is a shame, because IMO he could have been a long term success here. Like so many folks, he was a bit immature and self destructive. Hopefully he gets a job and just enjoys coaching for what it is.
Not surprising, just could not get over the hump.“@TheUVAFool: RT @WhiteysWorld365: Wow. @DavidTeelatDP is reporting that Greenberg is done at Tech.”
