The Johnnies played admirably without Harrison for the first time Saturday night but his presence was missed. The team needed a three-point shot at the end of the game and Sampson ended up taking it – just his sixth attempt this season – and missed. Harrison made 58 of the Storm’s 110 three-pointers. Though he shot only 32 percent on them, St. John’s 1-for-11 effort on threes for the game was lacking.
“That’s just something I am going to work on in the summer time,” Sampson said of three-point shooting. “That’s what I’ll work on. Just like coming in here the first year when I didn’t qualify, I didn’t have a mid-range jump shot. But now I’ve got that. So now I have something to work on. This will give me more motivation to work on it.”
