Selfish, by Jakarr at the end
he's our go-to player...are you nuts?

I would have suggested a timeout after the FT miss, but it probably wouldn't have mattered. We are terrible coming out of timeouts.

Completely agree, not alot of time on the clock he is rushing and you want to make sure you shoot a three.

That being said a timeout should have been called on our second to last possession.  DId Lavin put in Marco when Cotton was shooting free throws?  If not that was a mistake.

That's what happens when you don't run any kind of a set offense.

Absurd comment.  It's what happens when you have nobody that can shoot on the court.  Lavin's fault, he should have played Marco more.  We had that game won.  Just had our only shooter on the bench.  Maddening.

Well he played Felix for his D on Cotton. Unfortunately Felix was constantly trailing him on picks and also lost him 2 othetr times. If you are going to play a guy for his D, fine but maybe the guy should be, you know a good defender. People pining for Marco just stop. Lavin, justified or not clearly does not trust him.

Choz ultimately it's on coach not Jakarr. He's our best player by far and I'm super excited he wears out uniform however this is the second game this year he forced up a contested jumpshots at the end of a game with somebody wide open. It all boils down to lavin for me but you can't get mad at pointing out the obvious , Jakarr was a bit selfish on that play and the one at rutgers

I think Balamou played good defense...he was on Cotton but only so much he was gonna do with all the screens they were setting...certainly a better defender than Greene

I, and a lot of other poster said it, know Bourgault needs to get minutes in the 2nd half, ridiculous that he doesn't.
This bringing the ball up the court by committee has to end. The point guard, his job, should be doing it unless there's a clear cut numbers advantage. No wonder Jordan hasn't verballed if hes watching us play. Branch or, yes even, Greene should be ball handling more.

I'll give Cotton a lot of credit for stepping up, but we should have won. Tough loss.

it would be absurd, but considering I said if was atrocious that Marco wasn't on the floor like 15 minutes ago, no, not really that absurd. We don't run screens. Period.

You're not watching.  We set screens all game long.  We have nobody that can shoot off of them with D'Angelo suspended and Marco on the bench.  We actually ran good offense.  We played with energy.  Only thing we were missing was shooting and we blow them out.  Instead we lose, because despite running our offense better than we have run it in a long time, we have nobody on the court that can make a shot outside of jakarr,

Phil Greene with another pathetic shooting display.  The guy isn't a Big East player.  Everyone says he's not a point guard, well he didn't play the point tonight and he was even less valuable at the 2 guard spot.  Lavin has some strange fetish with him but he can't be playing 40 minutes a game missing 12 shots every night, he just can't.  It's absolutely killing us.

Funny you say that and I said it after last game guys calling for Marco to get yanked because of a defensive deficiency aren't being fair. I have seen Marco look like half the bad defender that people make him out to be , call it basketball profiling or whatever but coach has to wiser up.

+1.  I agree it is disappointing because it was a winnable game and when you have lead late and lose it sucks.

But come on some of the stuff being said is just astounding.  They lost a tough game on the road to a team hot right now shorthanded.

agree completely. Our best player tonight. Our best player period. The only consistent scorer on the team and people want to get on him for trying to get this game to overtime...smh

+100 He is front and center in our second half swoons. This team just can't finish and he is an integral part of that. Hip injury, out of position, playing without D'Lo, etc Can we own up to the fact that in a guard oriented game he is just not up to the task?Effort just goes so far IMO.

If you watch the replays of some of Cotton's threes at the end on all the screens Balamou was trailing him by a couple steps going to the screen. If you are trailing by that much there is no way to defend it. Raymond Felton has that problem on the Knicks. Of course that is becuase every PG in NBA is 2 steps quicker than him. Felix also has a tendency to turn his head on D. Not good if you are guarding the other teams best player. Who are you looking to help? You are the guy that needs help.

There was only 3+ seconds left when Sampson shot...dont know that I can fault him that much...bigger issue was the next to last possession and not having Bourgault in the game...

Plus we have to find a way to get Greene at least 25-30 shots per game. I trust Pointer more from 3

Plenty of guys miss defensive assignments.  If that wasn't so,the other team wouldn't score.  We needed Marco for at least another 8 minutes down the stretch.  Forgive my vulgarity, but we had coke dick out there.  We had the effort, defense, and ran solid offense.  Just nobody to shoot.

36% FG
9% 3 PT %
57% FT

Read it and weep. we are one of the most offensively challenged teams I have ever seen. Looking forward to hearing Phil's other things he did well. Wheels off!

Exactly. Sure, Lavin isn't the best in game coach, but this game should have been ours. With Branch back, is there any reason for Phil Greene to still be playing? He's seriously hurting the team right now.

Jakarr touched the ball at 4.5 seconds momentum carried him and he regathered to get behind the line.  He's our best player and considering Branch last three hit nothing but backboard it's really not a bad play.

I agree.  Out of the guys on the floor that was our best option.  Unfortunately we have a marksman who is currently pulling splinters out of his behind and he should have been the one taking the shot.
