I hear Harrison got into a fight with Rico Hines while Lavin was out mourning his father
argument or fisticuffs

If an actual fight or even a near fight occurred, D'lo has got to go.  To let D'lo stay would neuter the coaching staff.  Coming off the Notre Dame game, the staff really can't afford to be neutered again.  It shouldn't be a surprise to D'lo as he has had difficulties all year.  If D'lo touched any member of the staff he should already be back in Texas, no diploma, no goodbyes...gone.  LaGuardia is right around the block. The coach allegedly involved may be looking for work too.  What a dissaster...

Almost came to blows

he has to go if this is indeed the case.

I think Lavin is spinning the PR machine now.

The way both Kob and Choz came forward to defend Lavin with the suspension makes it quite clear this is more than just a dirty look and eye-rolling, despite what the other experts here think.

Yep. I always felt, if this was just an accumulation of offenses, they would have run him off after the season. My gut told me there had to be a benchmark event. Maybe I'm wrong.

Just like last night's much scrutinized punch.  There is a difference between coming to blows and 'almost' coming to blows.

So who plays shooting guard next season if Harrison doesn't come back?  Without Harrison, we are cooked.  There will be zero backcourt scoring.  None..  People saying not to panic, but I'm getting more and mores concerned that we won't have Harrison from recent reports.

As far as our staff goes, I think it's fine but certainly Lavin could use an associate HC in the Dunlap mold.  Lavin tried to grab one, but it didn't work out.  Chiles shouldn't go as he is an integral recruiter for us.  Hines probably shouldn't either, but when Lavin started building this thing he saw a need for Dunlap and we probably are missing some of that type of influence now.

All I know is losing him & not having a solid scorer to replace him certainly "blows".

I really hope people who post this stuff about him in practice know what they are talking about. I'd hate to lose our best player over rumors.

If we lose Harrison, it won't be over the stuff on this board.

Unless Lavin pulls a rabbit out of his hat, considering his love affair w Greene,Greene will be our SG which worries me and a lot of posters.

He has more to lose than just St. John's. if the rumors are true than shame on him. But if not than he was tarnished by fans.

I hear you, but in my experience, stray rumors and conjecture spewed on fan boards rarely have the effect of tarnishing the rep or credibility of a player outside the posting community.  Either way, Harrison did enough to warrant negative attention irrespective of whether Baldi's info is true.

Guys are jumping ship faster than we did with Norm.  Lol!

Are expectations higher under Lavin than Norm?
Then timeline should be sped up.

From an investment/return perspective, we are paying major $ for this staff compared to previous regime. Fair to expect decent results? Why not?

Sure, but it also depends on your time horizon.  You want instant results or are you prepared to wait 3-5 years for your return?   Most people looking for instant gratification or a "quick profit" end up getting burned...

Are we going to be good next year and year after then take a step back for another 2 years.  That's kind of the cycle I'm seeing setup.  Are teams only good with the upperclassmen I guess is my question.

Moose I think most senior laden teams are competitive-to-very good..just nature of the game...That said...your concern is a valid one...we want to have a steady mix of youth and experience to create sustainable success..

If Keady and Lavin still travel to school together I would love to hear a tape of their conversation today.

Lavin-Tough game, Phil looked real good tonight though
Keady-What time is Matlock on tonight?
Lavin-I don't know but my circle motion offense is really coming together, by 2015 it should really be humming. I wonder if coach Knight was impressed?
Keady-I hate that bastard
Lavin-Was it me or do you think Marco eye rolled me when I took him out 5 seconds after I put him in
Keady-That Betty White is one hot dish!
Lavin-I think I am going to have to suspend Marco
Keady-Did someone hide my Makers Mark again?
Lavin- Hammer to rock

I dont always agree with you...but that was hilarious

Exactly.

And Harrison is lucky Hines didn't hit him with a chair.

So if the bench mark event was an altercation of some kind with coach Hines and it occurred while coach Lavin was away from the team why was Dlo allowed to play vs Pitt?  Could shooting 1-12 have pushed decision over the edge along with a sustained period of poor play vs had Dlo been playing great ball for us?

All just assumptions.  Here's another one.  Harrison acted poorly after his horrible game against Pitt and crossed the line for the last time.

The media savvy coach then decided to take this last and likely final action that he knew would draw unfavorable attention to the program he is building.
