I thought the team showed a lot of grit and toughness by not giving up.  In the past when we are down by 10 we fall apart and it becomes 20.  It was good to see them fight back and be rewarded with overtime.

Was DLO at the game today?  If so, where sitting?

Awful touchy Moose! Didn't know rebs and assists were the same thing.

I think you enjoy picking apart my posts.
If stats are so worthless why are they kept?
Funny how to start the year we were upwards of 250 plus in rebounding per game against what many said we inferior teams in terms of athleticism and who we should be running out of the gym.  Yet come end of the year that improved dramatically.
So where do we rank in terms of your beloved rebounding differential?

Right with Uconn.
Judging by this and if it is more important that shooting which was my original point.
Then the fact Lavin won 16 games with this team he should get coach of the year I think.

Do not enjoy picking apart your posts it was not personal. Thanks for the site-we are 291 in my beloved reb differential stat. My point was we all know we are not a good reb team as we are almost always getting out boarded by our opponent which is why being ranked as high as 88 seems askewed.

Not espousing moral victory...but today was a great game to be at...team fought back and 2nd tier players showed potential...

Most encouraging aspect was the crowd response as we closed the lead...reminder of old days and hopefully what is in store when we get all the way back..

agree big time with the crowd comments; we enjoyed the game (not the outcome but---).  I thought Branch had his best game today; first time I remember seeing our PG drive deep and kick out in a long while.  Hopefully it is him getting more comfortable.  Also props to Phil for giving up on all the 3PT attempts which are not in his game.  Maybe he finally adjusted to playing the 2 guard.  Achilles heel struck again however as we were terrible from FT line.  Despite the loss--very entertaining C7/BE baseketball and a good advertizement for our future league.  Hopefully we get one of the C7 to win the BE tournament; even better if the finals have 2 C7 teams as it will only enhance our league's reputation

Its often been discussed in a zone it is often hard to rebound successfully.  Most of the time our guys are extending and running out on shooters in many cased two guys which by math mean its one less player rebounding.  Also the fact that our offense is usually all around the perimeter makes it hard to rebound sometimes.  Oh yeah and we can't throw the ball in the ocean so more chances to rebound.

Just funny that the fact we actually have dramatically improved something this year and its our best core stat arguably but meanwhile its a bogus stat ;)

Again Lav for coach of the year then for getting this 291st rebounding efficiency group to win 16 games :)

I don't think he was behind the bench. Dom was, didn't see D'Lo there. I'm think he was sitting opposite side of the bench. ESPN kept showing him.

We lost on a buzzer beater in OT at the end of the season to a team tied for #1 in the conference.  We did it without our leading scorer and without Pointer.  Anybody who thinks the future isn't bright is crazy.

As far as the new Big East Conference, our "death" is going to disappoint many.  We will have s very strong conference even next year with Georgetown, Marquette, SJU, Xavier and Providence very strong tourney contenders at minimum, if not Butler and Creigton too(I don't know who they lose).  League will be strong from the outset and will not be s weak basketbsll conference by any means.

I find it funny that Lenn Robbins rips us for brand but meanwhile Marquette's vander blue makes sure to run right in front of our bench for a pile on and he grabs his crotch.  What about that "brand"

In addition, Marquette tied for #1 in the league, has their entire team storm the court and pile on top of Blue as if they won a NC.  They beat a SJU team...barely, that was without 2 of our 3 best players and isn't even headed to the ncaa's.  Was pretty classless all around.

They won a share of the Big East title so I understand why they were excited but agree no need to celebrate right in front of our bench.

Any time a team wins a shot at the buzzer they are going to celebrate (especially after blowing a 14 pt lead and 9 pt lead in last 2 minutes).

He was.  Just wasn't first or 2nd row.  Couple rows up but within that first section of 7 rows or so prior to the walkway

Hollywood's decision to play the walkon late in the first half of a tight game in which we didn't foul out any players and only a reserve even got to 4 fouls was dubious at best and insane at worst.

I believe a 7 -0 or 9 - 0 stretch for Marquette with #35 on the floor.

It hit the rim Mike.  We all saw it hit the rim.  How could all of us be wrong?  We were only 100 yards away, we had no bias one way or the other and nothing was in our way - except for that crazy drunken georgetown kid.  By the way... He was the best St John's fan we've -  all season.  Maybe we can sign him up for the section next year.

He was opposite bench, 2 rows behind Tarik Turner and about 10 in front of me. At least in 2nd half.
