I'm not sure if anyone is really in Vegas this weekend.

DC seems to be the big one for us this weekend.

Whitehead, Zimmerman in Milwaukee I believe.

The second of three five-day live basketball recruiting periods begins Wednesday with high-major events spread out across the country.

Last week to kick things off, we saw Maryland commits Romelo Trimble and Jared Nickens become all-stars at the Reebok Breakout Classic, while fellow Terps pledge Dion Wiley lit up Peach Jam from three-point range.

Now we move on to the second set. Here's a preview from Comcast SportsNet:

Nike Global Challenge (July 17-20)

CSN will be in attendance at this event, held at Trinity Washington University in D.C. It will feature four-U.S. based all-star teams, along with four international squads. The non-U.S. teams come from Canada, France, Brazil, and Pan Africa.

Though teams may be labeled "international," many have talented players who either play high school basketball in the United States or live here already.

The Pan Africa team, for example, features Abdul Malik Abu, Obi Enechionyia, Goodluck Okonoboh, Cheick Diallo, and Therence Mayimba. All of those players have starred at U.S. high schools.

Canada will also be a team to watch. Though they no longer feature Kansas-bound Andrew Wiggins, the next-in-line is ready to lead our northern neighbors. Montaque Gill-Caesar is a 6-5 guard and one of the best rising juniors in the country.

Under Armour Summer Jam (Milwaukee, Wisc.)

This tournament is quickly becoming one of the better ones on the circuit and is rivaling others by bringing in some of the strongest talent.

Both D.C. Assault (Trimble, Chinanu Onuaku) and Sports U (Nickens) will both be in attendance.

Other heavy hitters: Mac Irvin Fire (Jahlil Okafor), Illinois Wolves, Juice All-Stars, Team THAD and others

Full list of participants here.
Las Vegas Live

This is the first of a series of tournaments in Las Vegas that will take place over the course of the rest of the live recruiting period.

Glad we offered Paschal Chukwu. I have seen him several times at F. Prep and he is going to be better than Okafor. The kid is a game changer and a shot blocking machine. Great student with a terrific work ethic. His offensive game is becoming polished this summer.

There is no player in the class of 2014 I would rather have. Way UNDER THE RADAR!

Not sure, here is West roster from earlier game. Rabb is a young stud, but a ton of folks are after him. Maybe a French kid? Or just killing time, lol.
