I am going to the game with a Syracuse graduate. I am expecting to leave the garden very happy. Think Harrison has a huge game . Hopefully max hits a few 3's , but plays a only a little. Pointer and obekpa block some shots but more importantly rebound .  Sampson plays within himself and plays SMART.
This is our Georgetown game that gets us going .
We win 77-74

Well, the last time I went to this game, it didn't go so well.  Hopefully this one turns out better (anything less than a 25 pt defeat would be better, so I'm not asking for much).

HOME vs. the number 2 team in the country….I would love to predict a win for us, and I do think it's possible; unfortunately I don't think it happens.
The HOME team loses:  82-69

(Please let me be wrong...)

Key will be rysheed's defense on Ennis and Branch penetrating the zone.

STJ 75, SU 64

We finally put together a complete performance against a ranked team. We start off in a zone, and go to the press which throws off the SU backcourt. They certainly have some great players, but I think the youth in the backcourt and the lack of ball handlers all around tells me that the more intense our press is, the better our chances will be.

The ONLY way this happens IMO is if we use our speed to disrupt their flow. Their offense is not build on speed. They move the ball the around and take good shots. We have get in their grills and make them rush into decisions.

I almost always go into this game thinking we can win and then we get run through.  I'm predicting a loss until my team proves otherwise.  Do I think we have the ability to win?  Certainly.  Time for the boys to prove to the Redmen fans and country that it can actually be done.

For some reason this game has a duke feel to me from 3 yrs ago.  Practically everyone choosing the cuse who on paper is better ( talking about ranking)  and receiving ton of early press as a final four contender.

This game is huge. Not just because it's Cuse, but it could mean a ton come selection sunday. Our last chance to get a signature OOC win.

The last 60 minutes of basketball we have played have been excellent. I think we will play at or near this level for the rest of the season. I haven't been this excited for a game in while. I haven't see 'Cuse a lot this year but from what I have seen and looking at their stats I think we can win.

Not a jab, sad fact this is a Syracuse home game.
Whose "facts," your "facts?"  He he he Just because they graduate many more students every year, and have a solid alumni network in the city, they're not going to out yell SJ's fans person for person, pound for pound.  The Terps have more city/suburban grads than UConn in NYC.  They started brawling with Huskie fans when things got a little tense.  It's not my style, but it's how I want to see SJ's fans as they protect their "turf."

SJ's 76, Cuse 75 in a squeaker.  St' John's fans 2, Cuse fans 1 in fan battles

Lol... Battling fans is something I'm not worried about.  It's the team winning that I'm worried about!  We need to play loose here.  A don't have much to lose by dropping a game to the # 1 or 2 team in the country.  We have a ton to gain by winning though.  Scalp em...

I think you're teasing?  Cuse is 15k/6k (undergrad/postgrad), SJ's 10k/3k.  50% more adds up through the years.  Still no excuse not to keep the Garden balanced 50/50 at worst.

I don't think that's accurate.    Not that it's that important, but you corrected Poison, so you should at least be accurate if you're going to tell someone they're wrong.

More or less equal.

Bottom line is that if we had been as good as 'Cuse has been for the last decade, the Garden would be packed with our fans and it would be a true home game.

According to Wiki, STJ has over 15K undergrad, and almost 6K postgrad.

Thing is, most of SU's undergrads are on campus together.  I'd be surprised if at any time more than 60% of STJ's undergrads are on campus at the same time. As a commuter school, it just feels smaller.

purely based on law of averages i think we win.  CUSE is currently undefeated, they are due for a loss.  we haven't beaten them since 2007, we are due for a win.  add that this is our best team in ages, plus we're coming off our best performance, i think we win.
