Was a joke but that was the point. I think crowds in college influence the officiating more than any other sport. Unfortunately that is a advantage SJU has never really had.

Pro wrestling refs are the best.  They have to time that 3rd slap of the mat just right in order to let the guy that's pinned lift his shoulder.  Not to mention how they have to pretend not to see the villain put the foreign object back in his trunk.  How they keep from breaking down and laughing is beyond me.

and how they fall for the same tag team trick when one argues with them and the other guy comes in.  Man will they ever learn???

I'm not quite sure why teams with this many athletes are playing so slow. According to kenpom.com, St. John's is ranked 274th in the country in tempo; Syracuse is 311th. It will be hard for the Johnnies to quicken the pace given that Syracuse freshman point guard Tyler Ennis boasts an assist-to-turnover ratio of nearly 5 to 1, but I have a feeling Steve Lavin's bunch is going to play with real purpose against an Orange squad that is due to get clipped. The bottom line is this: If you want to play in the NCAA tournament, this is a game you have to win.

I used to scream at my tv set as a kid, lol.  Vince McMahon has taken ridiculousness to another level.  I haven't watch in about 10 years since my kid stopped enjoying it.

If that was measured before Fordham game we were probably much worse.

Not surprising.  Basketball is by far the toughest sport to officiate.

I think MLB umps are pretty terrible. They love to show players up and a lot of them look for confrontation, something you don't see all that much in other sports.

The bottom line is this: If you want to play in the NCAA tournament, this is a game you have to win.

I guess everyone who loses to cuse this year won't make the tournament.

No but to make tournament you have to beat good teams. This is a huge game. We will know what kind of team we have after the game.

I think he's right that we'll play w purpose, but why doesn't know why our tempo is slow? My guess is he doesn't watch us. Greene, for better or worse has been the PG, and he doesn't run.

This is the game I would like StJ to win more than any other this year ... unfortunately I don't see it happening.  Syracuse will have a game plan, and we will play Jazz.  Orange 84 - Red 71

I went to the Hardy buzzer beater and I have to give that a 50 / 50 split unless I just happened to be in a section that was all Pitt.

You must have been with all Pitt fans because there is no way in hell that place was anything close to 50/50.  It was 80% SJU.  Pitt doesn't travel well at all and the ones who were there sat on their hands.

The culture of the students and the school need to change otherwise we will continue to be a big school that has a bunch of fairweather fans or depends on the city of NY to embrace us only when we are good, while most of those fans went to other schools and deep down pull for them just as much.

Agree...we outnumbered Pitt and I don't recall GT fans ever dominating the Garden
