while the Barclay offers a great diversity of "Brooklyn" food, I would recommend you avoid the Spumoni Gardens pizza-  it is an embarrassment to the pizza served at Spumoni Gardens on 86th street near Avenue U which is really great.  A friend had a slice of the their famous square yesterday and one look said no way.

Yeah, I just went to the actual Spumoni Gardens after the game and got a half tray for what 2 squares would have cost at the arena.

I would have went yesterday if I could. But its a lot to ask a casual fan to spend premium money to see us vs Columbia. Didn't ohio st. just come to NYC to play Notre dame? That  is a game people would pay to see.

I paid $30 a ticket to be less than 10 rows off the court. The match ups were weak. The venue was weaker. Michigan sells. Our fans don't have that kind of loyalty.

I don't think that match ups against Penn State, Georgia Tech and Columbia are going to draw people to Barclays. I feel like because SJU fans are so accustomed to MSG that the Barclays doesn't stack up.  If those games were at MSG they would draw way more than 3,000 people like these games did. I feel like if SJU played a Kentucky or Michigan in BK though it would draw.

Personal point of contention here..   Spumoni Gardens is THE most overrated pizza place in NYC...   ha ha ha...

Not to get off on a pizza discussion here but FYI, the best pizza in the world is Di Faro's in Midwood.

Rysheed had positive impact today.  when he went out with 4th foul at the 12 minute mark we were up by 8; when he came back with 7 to go we were up by only 1 point.  Was disappointed that Dangelo only took 9 shots but defensively he was very active.

Got figure how to  get more folks to the Barclay Center.  It is a good venue/good site lines/good food choices and lots of places to go outside the arena

If it was a good venue, people would go. It's a terrible venue, so people don't want any part of it. We were told for years about this Russian billionaire. This is what that f*ck built? It looks like an airport. On a scale of 1-10, I give it a 3. I give alumni hall a 6, and MSG a 9.

Honestly, I'd rather go to Long Island, or even Newark to see a game.
Interesting. Tiznow was saying yesterday to me as we walked in that a friend of his doesn't like Barclays because he has trouble seeing with the type of lighting they use. First time I really noticed it. Personally I like the Barclays. Don't love it but I like it. Hate the outside look of the building but I like the entrance and the seats aren't bad.

The place does have a sort of industrial warehouse feel though. No way does it have the same electricity type of feel that the garden has. I still like it much better than Carnesseca just for the fact that my back and ass don't hurt when I leave the arena.

I give Carnesseca a 2
Barclays a 6
MSG a 11

I agree with everything you said.   Barclays isn't perfect, but for a number of reasons (transportation, food, seat comfort) it's better than most other arenas.
I have no problem if we continue to play 1 or 2 "neutral" site games there every year.
