7 pts, 11 boards and 2 assists and perfect 5 for 5 from line.  3 turnovers compared to 5 turnovers for the player of the game and people are saying he KILLS us out there.

Agree 100%.

If you told me before the game that Dlo, Jordan and Greene would only have 7 pts each and we didn't have CO on defense but would win by 25 pts, I wouldn't believe it.

Butler was awful in the second half but felt players like Branch and Sanchez stepped up a bit.

Game was very sloppy so crowd really wasn't into it. Loudest reaction was when the contestant got booed off the court for cheating in the race.

Obekpa looked pretty healthy in the pre game footage.  I don't think he will be out for long.

Welcome back. Glad to see that your two month absence-of-despair hasn't quashed your completely delusional sense of optimism.

Branch saved our bacon last night.  Jordan had a freshman game and Branch stepped in big time.
Sanchez brings too much to the table as opposed to Gift.
I know a certain poster is probably going nuts this morning.

I agree about Sanchez but he really needs to outlet the ball on defensive rebounds.  I would bet most of his turnovers are traveling and giving the ball up on a break.  Additionally, with Obekpa out it would be nice if he remained a bit more in the low post and didn't float around the three point line.  He is a big body and we need more spacing.

No question.  The thing is we have too many guys who want to lead a fast break.  Him, Karr, Dom come immediately to mind.

And he has been along the perimeter all year.  If he wasn't supposed to be there I would think by now it would have been corrected.  I'm not crazy with how he has been used to be honest.  Should be at the FT line where he could be a triple threat but instead hes in the corner too much.

I respect Gift.  He busts his butt out there.  But he has no hands and he's really awkward out there still.  We're gonna need his best games ever the next 2 times out but Sanchez provides so much more its not even a debate.

+1 Plus, Sanchez shoots better from FT area. His baseline touch is lacking and camping out there provides less passing vision. Need those dump downs to Karr and Chris when back.

Tarik Turner NCAA starts 1
Geno NCAA games 0
By my math that puts Tarik ahead of Geno. I would also put him ahead of Boothe

Sergio Lyuk: 2 NCAA games
Anthony Mason Jr No NCAA games

By your math Sergio Luyk was a better SF than AMJ.

Lee Green 2 NCAA games
Darryl Hill No NCAA games

By your math Lee Green was a better PG than Darryl Hill

Thus to I call into question your math.

Tarik started the other two barely played. But you could talk me into Luyk being better than Mase JR

Boot > crutches
Boot

Attendance was miserable--7,000 VERY DISAPPOINTING--no wonder team could not get started

There wasn't near 7000.  I would say 4000 max.

You need a better counter.

Why?  Only people in lower section and no part of it was full.  Ok.  5000 max.

I know we don't have a great many season ticket holders period and probably less that no show.  So I don't get why there's always that large disparity between box office reported attendance and actual?

This isn't a Yankee game.  We have so few season tickets if some don't show up because its a 9pm start you really won' see a difference.
4k like you first said would have put the whole lower bowl into CA and had leg room to spare.
5k like you amended still would have been able to put into CA.  I believe their number quoted give or take 500 which is still be super aggressive in saying 1/5 of our ticket base no showed.

I don't know what lower bowl of MSG holds.  In the previous Garden the 100's to 300's would be about 16k and then the other 2-3k was in the 400's.  The other day against Gtown was 11k and the bottom was full with only 2 sections behind the benches in the 200's with people seated.  Also to note I was surprised to see so many suites occupied last night.  Each suite holds approx 15 people so that adds in.

I don't.  Did you go?  That crowd was lite!  Could have fit all in Alumni no problem.  I hope we can do better against Xavier.  We'll need it.  Might have to bring my crew out again.  They had a good time.

Yes.
The crowd was 4k less than Sunday.  I counted.  Therefore the 7k was right on.

*I almost lost count from the shock of when Phil drove the lane.  But I was able to restart my count.

At this point I have no patience for anyone who doesn't see the upside to playing Branch 20mins a game.   He gets in the lane and creates easy baskets.    What more do we expect from our backup pg?

And Sanchez v. Gift?    Really?    That's even a debate?
I'm glad we have an experienced big on the bench for moments like this when CO is injured.  But Gifts game is what it is.   Expecting big mins from him is not something a post-season team can afford.

Shouldnt be a surprise with our fan base though really.  They have a bad taste in their mouth from praise being given to Sanchez and others so they scrutinize every move.  But the players with less skill and lower rankings are put on a pedestal.

Any chance Chris O pulls a Reed and hits te first two shots of te game and then goes back to the bench? A Lavin strategy .

Obekpa looked pretty healthy in the pre game footage.  I don't think he will be out for long.

At least one more game and probably two. Hope he gets back for Xavier.

Gonma need him for Stainbrook. Either that or Gift will have to play extended minutes.

Maybe we can borrow De  La Rosa for a game :)
Speaking about De La Rosa. Next year there will be no Gift nor Sanchez. CO has a tendency to pick up fouls . We need De Larosa or another adequate JC big.

It's true.
But if I take a deep breath I can let the fan base slide a little, because after all they're just fans.  We're supposed to be emotional.
But I look back and see that Branch didn't get more than 20mins until the Dartmouth game, and played just 5,8, 6, and 9 mins in losses to Syracuse, Xavier, Villanova, and Providence(OT!),  when "he-who-shall-not-be-named played 18, 23, 26, and 38 mins in those contests.

I'm ecstatic we're winning,  but this sh*t was obvious in October.   Play Phil off the ball and shorten the rotation!
Doesn't that frustrate anyone else?    I feel like we gave games away for the sake of experimenting and teaching lessons that could have been given during a chat in coach's office.

I'm not 100% sure but I think it frustrates we are sju also.

To be honest, it is what it is. What if Branch did play 20 mins a game earlier and they still lost? What if Lav went with a small rotation and they still lost? People would still find something or someone to critique and blame.
