Steve Lavin on Rysheed Jordan: "Sometimes when you sit down a player you're seeing how they react"
Sheed's body language and on court demeanor have become very discouraging, and clearly Lavin is still constantly challenging him while trying to teach him in the process. His teammates don't root for him the way they do others, and if you were watching closely, he needed to be reprimanded by a ref at the end of the game for his immature act of placing the ball near the floor, instead of simply passing it to the ref after being called for a inadvertent elbow. From his daily twitter rants every offseason to Lavin's personal muzzle on him from any media access, if leaves you to wonder how scouts view his overall character when considered to be a paid professional. His play over last weekend and tonight have been lackluster. Bottom line, his play really needs to turn around ASAP, but more importantly he's very immature and needs more time to grow as an individual and develop his character before he jumps into the real world, just my opinion. With all of this being said, I wouldn't be surprised in the least if he looks like a sure fire first rounder on Saturday.
Side notes:
-Myles holds himself very well and his teammates already respect his game, they're looking for him and feed him the rock. Great to see! His development over the next 4 years will be awesome to watch.
-Very pleased with Jamal's floor game tn, we need that level of poise consistently from him, he needs to control the offense and keep his TO/Assist ratio down throughout the winter.
-Nice to see Amar knock one down, he knows his role as a screener and hopefully his intangibles shine in spot minutes as the season progresses.
-CJ and Felix's minutes are waning. Adonis' fate will be determined soon, and boy do we need him.
