As I said previously, this one burns me up.  I really wanted to play on Friday night and, at worst, give Nova a tough game.  I will be over it if we win our first game in the tournament.  If we lose and get beat badly like we have the last two, it is going to leave a bitter taste in my mouth and erase what has been overall a really fun year.  The idea of our Seniors going out on a high note, perhaps winning a game (or even two, with the right matchup), has kept me from focusing on the negative aspects of the Lavin regime going forward.  Last two performances have really, really bothered me.

Desco you are talking to a crowd that thinks it is good news when they hear the doctor give the news that the surgery was a success but the patient died.

I know you're making light of the situation (or, I assume).

Your quote, compared to sports, isn't that important in the grand scheme of things.  Some folks don't take it so seriously or doesn't any longer.  I remember my dad use to laugh at me and my brother's for taking sports soooo seriously.

He enjoyed sports (particularly, football and boxing....  he was a very, casual basketball fan) and watched it, but it was all entertainment for him.

And, as an aside, those familiar with my posts on this board or the other know that I am very much a glass half full, positive poster.  Getting blown out today was unacceptable.

I'm familiar with your posting style.  You're blowing off a bit of steam and venting.  I did the same a bit earlier, per texting, with a fellow fan.  It's all good.

Please, don't go haywire like some of the irrational posters.  LOL

I'm pretty surprised no one has commented on my new avatar.  I was hoping the switch back would distract people from the loss.

Is it Baldi's sister?    My wife maybe?    Marillac's mom?

Or, is it a random pro that Fun hired for a weekend and then buried in the dunes by Gilgo?

Oh my bad the avatar is so small and the jersey just overwhelms the person wearing it...I assumed it was Joe3.  Upon closer look...I hope your wife knows if you've got her as your avatar!

Very disappointing Day today for any Fan, Alum, friend who have seen what St. John's was at one time in College basketball. I thought PC was going to be a hard fought contest, going down to the wire.. Wasn't to be and the wheels have come off in the last 2 games..

Some fans are looking to the NCAA'S as redemption .. Regretfully , I don't see it happening.  I can't figure out this soap opera of a team. They had nothing today, barely competed.. Why?

I have to admit I wanted to like this group of players but, over their careers here, they just never delivered that 1 big win.

looking back, I have to say, I liked the Hardy, Kennedy, Burrell, Horne,Evans,Brownlee team a bit more. They fought hard their Senior year to win big games, when little was expected of them..   I hoped for a victory today, many of us wanted one. Tough to fathom the effort or performance.Sad. I am bummed.

That 2011 team was all effort.  Not the most talented group, but they played hard all of the time.

This team has more talented individuals, but the effort definitely isn't there every game.

It's frustrating beyond belief that Cooley got the better of us for the second year in a row.
Have A Very Enjoyable Birthday tomorrow. Being with fruends/family on your special day trumps a basketball game most any time (to me).

Really nothing to take from this game. Just thankful it is over and time to move on. We have had some bad games but this game at this time of year was the worst I have felt after a game since last year when we lost to PC. If we play like this next week Steve is in trouble.

I've got 4 teams to root for in the tourney - Manhattan, Maryland, Coastal Carolina. I hope to get one win out of the four of them - lol

Lavin should be checked into Creedmoor for the post game comments he made today

That game sucked. Providence fans definitely worst in the conference. Not sure what the deal is with dangelo, he needs to get his confidence back somehow. They did a nice job on Dom defensively. Obekpa is too weak around the rim on offense. Jordan shot it ok, even with the wrist taped up, so that's the good news. Hopefully they play better in the 8/9 game. I am not looking forward to going to the garden tomorrow night, but hope nova destroys providence so their fans won't be in attendance on Saturday.

I agree with most of what you said, but the seniors sucked today. Lavin didn't throw up those bricks. Not really sticking up for him, because he sucked to.

Player                         FG%
Obekpa                                      40
Pointer                                        33
Branch                                        33
Greene                                        33
Harrison                                      20
Jordan                                          33

How could our entire Big 6 sh*t the bed in the same game?

Dunn - 11 assists                        Sju - 7 assists

What happened?

I was there. A lot of moping early in the first half. Sure, the refs were poor, but they always poor.

Biggest thing I saw was that neither Branch nor Jordan could do anything to run the offense. All they did was carelessly throw it around. We've gone from tremendous cohesion against Georgetown, to the opposite in two weeks, and at the worst possible time.
