actually moose, i believe you are incorrect.  According to the NCAA’S recruting calender the recruting period ends march 31st 2015. hahahaha so its exponentiallly worse that we arent making a move now.  If we do really want to can lav and we wait much longer to find a replacement were gonna hire him during a dead period and give him a couple days to fill a team.

I don't think Admin will wait too long, but as I said, a decision should be made by mid april. April 17th starts a week long recruiting period. That would give a coach a chance to contact recruits/transfers before the AAU season kicks in.

....and he could still probably more than double his new comp.

If Lavin needs an extension ASAP in order to finish recruiting, that in itself is a reason to fire him!
It's April!   And he has one impact recruit.       Lovett may sign but hes not eligible, and it's unlikely any of the Europeans even play in the NCAA.   We are reaching for players at the last minute.
That's not a reason to give the coach a new contract, it's  a reason to fire him.

"one impact recruit" was mentioned in NY Post. Do you believe that to be true?

I for one like Samir Doughty and I think ADR in a sense is another incoming body. I think both those guys make an impact and contribute next season. Sampson is a tier above those guys.
if Rysheed comes back, those 5 make a .500 team next year so we're not a total disaster until '16 class. Get one more solid4 year type of player and it'll be a bit better.

Have any of our coaching targets signed with another school?

No

Thank you and have a great day.
have a terrific day Moose. I think we could go until mid April provided the names are still there.
The leaks are not ok....silence would have been ok but not in the face of the leaks....what is the plan...what is process...what is the timing?

What leaks? This isn't Watergate. A blogger cited a "source" and a "second source." So that's Maven and his kid. No one cares about this. Saint John's is irrelevant except to 300 forum posters, one delusional Seton Hall fan and Zach Braziller.

Haaaa. Spot on.

That said, no excuse this hasn't been sorted out. Plenty of time to deliberate over last 2 months.

I agree.   All avoidable...What a mess and so unnecessary.

Again I agree with We are SJu.

Desco - come on bro.  That's just dumb

My shtick about Diallo and coach?    Of course it's dumb.    I'm just trying to make the point that I think this is a recruitment where we are being strung along because the kid likes NY.
But at the end of the day he's made it here all the way from Africa because he's committed to his future.   He'll move again if he thinks it's best for his career.     Simple guy as Dave has said.

Not being strung along. Have a real shot.
so Dave, you obviously believe CD is the rare exceptional recruit that won't just go to front running schools? You had me believing from your comments right from the beginning that SJ's most likely is the better fit over the other schools. I hope we can see it cone to fruition.

if we offer him the same as DePaul, no way he would take DePaul.

I think the longer this goes on the more it feels like they are just negotiating with Lav. If they were set on firing him I think they would have done so already.

How long was it before they fired Norm?
