Harrison's and Johnson declaring is absurd. Kids need to stay in school. As featured players next year all can improve their draft stock.

Probably too late for Diallo though.  Ship seems to have sailed.  Plenty of playing time at UK now.

Let Diallo go, pretty confident that we're getting sima.

Harrisons coming back last year hurt their stock.  Scouts have had a long time to dissect their games and waiting another year to improve their draft stock would only actually work if they dramatically improved next season.

If these kids played baseball or hockey they'd already be in the minors.   Let them take their shot, if that's what they want.      The odds of any one guy making and sticking in the NBA are real slim anyway.
To each his own.

That implies one is a replacement for the other.  He isn't.
A backup plan? maybe.    But Sima is not a substitute for Diallo.   One is a predicted lottery pick and was just the MVP of the All Americans game.

Harrisons will be in Europe for 5-10 years, then start coaching back here.  Dad's loaded, so no big deal for them.

Dakari should have stayed as Baldi said.
Would have helped him for the draft, and he would have made more money (guaranteed) too.

I gave up on him already. It appears that the staff is going to try and balance the roster instead of a quick fix. And I'm fine with that.

What does that have to do with getting Diallo? They can still prioritize roster balance and bring in freshmen. The way you said it makes it sound like the staff would rather balance the roster than give their best effort to get Diallo. Can do both.

Also, if we get Diallo...we'll have another ship available next year or the year after at the latest.

To each his own.

In baseball  you have a choice. You can drafted then decide to sign (you know the offer from the team)  or go to school.
In basketball and football you don't have that choice

Understood, I don't think they vastly overestimate where they'll get drafted though.  The Harrisons are second round picks whether they come out this year or next year.
the scouts look for potential, not necessarily production.  They can be all americans next year and still be far behind Malik Newman and other more raw players.
Trey lyles averaged 8pts a game, and he'll be a top 10 pick.

I think some kids used to overestimate where they would get drafted.  Omar Cook types.
But now, I think there are a lot of kids who are just done going to school, and are going to play basketball next year wherever they land.  Europe and the Dleague are viable options to these kids.

If we get Diallo I would be very happy but very surprised. I just don't see it happening. So I'm just not getting my hopes up on a very, very long shot.

Kids need to look at big picture, a free Kentucky education and degree has value. Wait to you graduate and get drafted in second round or go to Europe then. In my book if you are not going to be a first round pick, stay in school for the free education.
