Syracuse Game Thread

Guys sorry been lacking on the blogs lately. My Grandfather has been really sick and passed away late last night. This game was a great tribute to him and he would have loved to see his countrymen Mussini and Alibegovic playing out of their minds. This game was really uplifting for my fam. I'll never forget it

What a win!  It is amazing what a good coaching staff can get out of players seemingly overmatched.  Oh, and F Cuse.

Sell ur tickets. This will be the worst game of the year. It's going to be at least 70-30 cuse fans. This will not be fun.

Not to be a downer, but Syracuse isn't good at all.

I love this guy.

As to the game-one of the quietest Excuse crowds in history.  Our folks were into the game the last minute of 1st half with Redmen on their feet was great along with late second chant by students "New York's team" was great.  To those who sold there seats to Excuse backers, I hope you are enjoying your 30 pieces of silver which will not come close to feeling of euphoria enjoyed by true Redmen fans who were there today.

Great coaching plan and great execution thereof today.  It was nice to see us attack the zone by focusing on getting the ball to the FT line and dishing back to open man or going to the hoop.

Most amazing part of the game was consistency from half to half that we have rarely seen from SJU teams.  We lead the whole time and kept the lead.  No Cuse runs, except for the run almost caused by turnovers late.  We finished with a double digit win.  No this might not be Syracuse s best team ever but we beat them with 3 freshmen and a bunch of transfers and looked really good doing it.  I've been in a great mood all day since this win...  Was unbelievable effort  by players and fantastic coaching against the zone.

Btw this gave me goosebumps but there was this nice lady from Long Island who brought her kids to the game. It was all their first college basketball game, you could tell the kids liked the NBA, anyway I talked to her at halftime because she was confused as to why there was halftime after the first quarter. I explained the college rules are a tad different from the NBA and she said she was given the tickets from a St John's fan she knew and they were rooting for SJU for the first time.

Anyway long story short as the game is winding down and the fans are going crazy getting ready for the win the young kid behind me starts telling his mom he wants to go to St. John's when he get's older.

Today was just the best day.

Who were those recruits at the game today?  I think this was as good as some of the Duke upsets.  Delighted at how dead wrong I was.  Future looking good.

I am happy we won. I was not confident after the niagra game. If you say you were, either you are lying or a fool.
Syracuse was not good. What is your point? I also made some very positive posts. Which you have not highlighted.
After last years win I was over joyed as a fan. I am always happy to beat Syracuse and I wish I was there to see it. Inam more excited for the season then I was starting the day. Our staff prepared our guys much better then Syracuse . Since you did not high light all of my posts I assumed Syracuse and every team we play foward would pressure us, wear us down and tire mussini out. Syracuse didn't, that is why they lost. I believe if they did pressure us they would have been more successful . I am very happy we won. I am hoping Lovett is eligible and Felix and is back soon. we need guard help. I love u to.
