I think he will end up being a transfer candidate

Why? He is big, pretty skilled and a big east caliber player. I see him having a pretty similar career to DJ

He is going to be recruited over and not see playing time after this year

Ellison has been awful all year and it continues. He's just not a very good player right now

Ain't that's a bit over the top?

I don't think he will be over recruited to the point where he will transfer. Even if we get someone like rawle next year, the staff will still find a way to get him 10-15 minutes a game

100 free throws minimum after and during practice for everyone.....FTs and Mussinis D are where the game was lost.  Johnson a black hole, once the ball goes in it never comes back.  PATIENCE.  WE ALL KNEW THIS WAS A LOST YEAR, there will be some positive surprises and a lot of disappointment.  Hope Lovett worked in the classroom and had generous hoopfan profs

We knew it would be a lost year...but not all the way back to the Norm days.  Every time I'm bummed about this team...which will be extremely often...I'll go back to re-watching the Syracuse game on you tube.

Lavin manufactured this year due to poor recruiting......considering Mullin had 3 or 4 months to put together a team things are going well. With Lovett and Ponds coming things will be fine, backcourt issues will be solved and Mussini will be off the ball.  Frontcourt already has a solid foundation with Sima and Yakwe and Ali improving (I think he will learn to be more judicious with his hammerjobs).... Ellison will be OK.   Im sure other quality recruits are coming as well.

If we get blown out by these shitty teams next year is Lavin still to blame?

No, but this year yes. You can't blame Mullin with only a few months to recruit. So, who else do you blame?

with only 5% of production returning I blame this year totally on Lavin, next year only partially.  After that totally on Mullin but Im not worried.  Also, for you Norm haters, I give Lavins first and best year to Norm,, it was his team.

We are not all the way back to the Norm days. We are actually worse. Norm's first team in 04-05 was shit, but at least they tried. What I've seen in the last two games is enough to convince me that not only does this team need a ton of practice, they need a ton of coaching, too.

Mullin is learning on the job, and he got worked twice this weekend.

We simply can't defend the perimeter. Countless open looks... This needs to stop, soon.
It is not can't . We don't defend the perimeter.

Exactly right. This is a lazy team.

The 5% returning is on St.John's University and it's on the new staff. You can't blame the fired staff because Brandon Sampson didn't want to come here after the University fired his staff, or because Obekpa and Jordan left. All we heard is how hard the new guys worked, and how much better their attitudes are. What a load of shit. I'll take Obekpa over Johnson. At least he played hard. M'vouika gets called for a foul, and every time it's the refs fault. Grow the F up. These losses are on the players and the coaches. They need to work harder, provided they even know what means.

I don't expect Bashir Ahmed or Rawlie Alkins to want to be a part of this. It's a disgrace what they did this weekend.

He's played 4 games. Too small of a sample. They need him to help run the point, and he can't. Johnson is worse, but everyone it seems is playing out of position. Staff has their work cut out for them, and so do the players provided they are able understand how hard you have to work at this level to beat anyone. It's amazing we've won 7 games considering how low the collective basketball IQ is.

would be interesting to know how many of our guys have truly caught the Mullin "gym rat" syndrome that helped him shine  or just continue to just do what they've always done.   In watching that post game recap some of the questions were tough and it didn't seem Mullin was quite sure where things would end up on the learning curve by year end.

Guys are out of position and have bad habits. Bad habits like Jones putting the ball on the floor instead of going straight up. Sima was incredibly soft today. I don't understand why he plays such a soft game inside on offense, and today on defense well. I only saw one or two plays where were in position to defend an NJIT player on his way to the basket. Are they coached that much better than we are? It looked that way. I'm not going to accept that this is a young team, and that's the answer. We have upperclassman who were terrible today. They have to play with their heads. It's not fair to expect the NCAA tournament or even the NIT, but it's also fair to ask fans to pay to watch a team that isn't well coached, and that's what we have now.

Time for Mullin to step up his game or get the help he needs to compete. The coaching has been just as bad as the playing.

Was at the game some of these guys have to dribble with there head up.

Also how many times did they run the back door play.

It would also be good once in awhile to have a little hometown calls.

I also like to see Yawkee and Sima in the game at the same time.
